One Round in Atlanta

Hello one and all. Going to be in Duluth for Stewart Cink’s pro-am on Monday, the 10th. Super stoked for that, but I want to fly in on Saturday or possibly take a red eye so I can get a round in somewhere on Sunday. Have never played in Atlanta before.

 

In lieu of anyone having an in at ANCC, where would you play with one day to do so? Will be staying in Duluth and will have a rental car. Don’t mind a little bit of a drive, maybe 30 miles or so if it’s worth it. Price is not really a factor.

I am not from Atlanta, but have played a few rounds in the area.  I believe a couple of your best options convenient to Duluth are Echelon or Bear’s Best.

Thanks! Was just checking out Echelon, actually. My attention was definitely drawn to Bear’s Best, but recent Golf Advisor reviews are not favorable at all.

UGA's course is one of the better public tracks in my opinion. It's about an hour or so from Duluth, but if you don't mind driving it's a great option that also happens to be extremely affordable.

Echelon is great.  Fun course.  Good conditions

Bears Best is good but gets a TON of play

Chateau Elan is good and not too far.

Stone Mountain courses are good too.

 

Public golf in Atlanta generally sucks.  Not sure if there is a way to get a list or communicate with others in the Pro-Am, but I bet there are a ton of folks who would be happy to host on Sunday.  I would have offered but Mothers Day and all....

 

If you have a pro who can help get you in somewhere, try River Club.  If he cant but has connections to Club Corp, try The Manor or White Columns.
