Ended up getting into the F1 22 game during the break - ordered the Thrustmaster T300 to add onto my PS5 and yes I blame everyone in this thread LOL.

You did better than me. When Gran Turismo 7 was announced, I ordered the Fanatec DD Pro, a rig and bought a racing seat. The Fanatec died after 4 days, so I got the T300 wheel base, Ferrari 599x wheel, shifter and load cell pedal set. I miss the direct drive, so I will see what the Thrustmaster DD is priced at. The rig I got was a little flexy so I added some 8020 to shore it up. Works awesome now. 

 

I have only done a few laps in F1 '22 so far, but I do at least 30 miles a night in GT7.

 

See what happens when PGA 2K23 gets here. 🤣

 

<edit> that's the 3D Rap DTM wheel mod on there now and I have the shifter mod installed as well.

Originally I had a PS3 so I could play GTA5.  My wife had a client that worked at Sony and when he found out I only had 1 game, he brought a stack for me. I had GT 4 and 5, but couldn't drive with a controller so I never played them. I always said I would get a wheel "some day" but never did. When GT7 was announced, I said screw it, I can do it for less than a grand. I also built myself a sweet office chair with the other seat. 🤣 

 

I also just sold my Vette, so this is my only way of throwing gears and I can do it around Spa. While not quite the same, it's still pretty fun and crashing is free.

 

I had upgraded to the PS4 when GTA5 was remastered. I now have PGA2K and the new one on preorder. I don't have a ton of time to play games, so I gotta pick and choose.

Also if Max gets 8 more points than Charles and 6 more points than Checo he's got the title with 4 races left. He needs 3 more wins for most wins and Seb still holds the record for consecutive wins.

I just hope he's able to fight for wins next year. I still feel he is a top 5 driver on the grid, he just needs a proper car.

Japanese GP red flagged with the rain and for some reason a tractor is on the track.

 

Unacceptable after what happened to Jules Bianchi.

 

 

We're now hearing why Pierre Gasly was so incensed after the red flag.

The AlphaTauri driver, running at the back of the field, passed a recovery tractor on track during the Safety Car. After Jules Bianchi's death following a crash at Suzuka in similar conditons, Gasly was understandably furious.

"What is this tractor on track?" he said on team radio. "I passed next to it. This is unacceptable. Remember what happened. Can't believe this!"

 

Carlos Sainz has also explained why the presence of a tractor on track is so dangerous, even when the cars are travelling at reduced speeds.

He said: “Even behind a Safety Car we are going at 100 or 150kph and still at those speeds we don’t see nothing.

If one driver decides to get a bit out of the racing line or has a small aquaplaning or has to change a switch on the steering wheel and gets a bit out of line and hits a tractor, it’s over.

I still don’t know why we keep risking, in these conditions, having a tractor on track. You were going to red flag it anyway, so why risk it?”

The budget cap breach is pretty stupid actually. It all comes down to the idea that Newey is either an "employee" or a "consultant". If he is considered an employee then they are below the cap because he counts as 1 of the 3 highest paid employees and his salary is outside of the cap. But since the FIA say he is a consultant (even though he isn't consulting for any other teams) then his salary is considered part of the cap and that puts them over. 

 

It's BS is what it is and it gives the RB haters and Hamilton fans another thing to b**** about. If RB had overspent on development, then sure. But to say they breached the cap because Newey is a temp? 🤣
