2021 Sun Mountain Sync Reviews

Read the short thread i found but looking for additional long term reviews of the bag...especially in regards to the new club set up with woods down the middle and how it works on a riding cart..

works fine on a riding cart. i will say a more traditional 14 way layout is slightly more suited to a riding cart for me, just the layout of the clubs (shortest irons and wedges in front) and most cart bags are set up so the front is slightly shorter than the rear. the sync is pretty level, so if you have shorter clubs, they might hang slightly from the bag. meaning the butt of the club doesn’t fully rest on the bottom of the bag. for reference, my 9i sits in the top right corner and barely touches the bottom of the bag. one other minor gripe, i wish there was a grab handle on the top of the bag, on the rear. there is one on each side, but i think it would be easier to maneuver with a rear top handle. like when you are standing the bag upright after carrying on your shoulder.

I've had the Sync for a few months. I've meant to take some pictures and post a review, but it kept slipping my mind.

 

The woods down the middle is...weird. I'm mostly used to it at this point, but it definitely took some getting used to. I do occasionally walk/look on the wrong side for an iron, which is really more annoying than anything. The clubs sit really nicely in the 14 way divider on the outside when in the push cart, but do clang a bit while carrying the bag since the strap is on the underside. I'll echo the comment above that some type of handle on the other side of the bag would be nice. Putting the bag into the trunk of my car or on a cart is a bit trickier without it.

 

I've only ridden with it once. In retrospect, I would have rearranged the clubs a bit to put the longer ones towards the back. Otherwise, it was totally fine.

 

It has a ton of storage (I'm coming from a Ping Hoofer). It has held up really well. I did end up getting the tour bag kit for my Clic Gear 3.5 regardless, since I wasn't happy with how much the clubs hung over the net and handle of the push cart.

thanks guys, i'm getting it today and i'm still not sold on it...i really wish sun mountain made a 5 way Sync bag... they have a 5 way C130 but that bag is too big and the "rails" around the top are a turn off for me..

My thoughts exactly. I had a Sync bag that was a couple years old, but got rid of it. Did not like the 14 way top. If they make one with a 4 or 5 way top, I would not hesitate to get another.

My old Sync bag has faded considerably, but is still functioning perfectly. When standing upright the top is relatively level which works well on a trolley with the shortest clubs on the bottom.

A few years ago, Sun Mtn. opted to remove the luggage grip style handle and filled the space with a pocket.  The handle is what i use for all lifting.  I also keep a carbineer there.  I use it to clip on a small bag of range balls.

I will probably go with an H2NO light cart bag that is configured the same as my old Sync.

An update with a few pictures. This is my typical setup on a ClicGear 3.5 and the Tour Bag kit. Forgot to take a pic from the front, but this should give a good view of how the clubs sit. I do put both of my hybrids in the top left slot and leave the middle bottom open rather than put a long club in there. That slot made the bag feel a little more cluttered.

I have just purchased a 2023 Sync Bag to go with the PX4 Trundler. I love the lay out but as others have mentioned it's a nuisance not having a front handle to grab when lifting in and out of car boot. The other little niggle is that I noticed today that the bottom of the full length side pocket rubs on the wheel when full of gear.
