I noticed the graphics are a little sharper in the FSX 2020 update as well.  Ball tracer line and the flag look a little crisper.  Not sure if it's related to the new software update, but it's the first time I've also been able to connect via wifi with my BLP and hold a connection for an entire session.  Also noticed (subscription version) you can now choose to see backspin on the range data as before you were only allowed to see total spin and couldn't change it!

Is there an update button on the software or do you have to DL the whole package and install? I am away from my desktop now so excuse the idiocy of the question….

It’s a download from the foresight website.

 

it’s a different download for subscription BLPs users, also linked on the website.

That sucks as you should get all the data. Of course after I sent you what works, we had an issue where we got the B4 error. It was better last session when we put the ball in the lower right corner

Yeah unfortunately even with the gold subscription, you can't see all of the data on the range.  It's not customizable.  pretty disappointed in that.  Only way to see all of the data on the range screen is to full unlock.

I recently unlocked my LP. I got the license key. That worked for FSX 2020 but when I put key in FSX and it says “device is active on another device (paraphrasing)”.  What am I doing wrong?

Go to your FSX Live account and release the FSX Pro license and then log back in through FSX Pro.

Just got my LP - it won’t turn on. Plugged it in to an outlet that has power and I can’t get the thing to turn on. I guess I’ll be returning this…

Just wondering if you let it charge for a bit before trying to turn it on?  Maybe the battery was completely drained.  If not, then it sounds like a dud.  Best of luck.

I just left it plugged in for about 2 hours - still nothing. Such a bummer.

Does anyone know what the “prizes” are for the foresight competitions? Are prizes only awarded to the top finisher in each category? Or do the top 3 get a prize?

 

There is NO info on foresights web page other than “compete and win real prizes”

Slight update -

 

Returned the BLP brick back to golf galaxy. Then ordered a new one directly from Bushnell.

 

Now is where the fun begins….

I plug it in, get it connected to my home wifi, set up the accounts etc. I update to the most recent firmware, and now It will not let me use the Wi-Fi function. It’s not discoverable by my other devices, so nothing will connect to it and it will not connect to anything. Ethernet works. The wifi page shows ON/OFF, but will not let me toggle over to turn the Wi-Fi ON. It’s so strange and I can’t figure out what to do. I’ve been sitting with this since Friday night. Im also getting several Codes B4, P72 and a new one that says I’m out of memory, reboot is required.

 

can’t begin to express how disappointed I am in the unit so far. I may return this one and just get a GC3 from foresight…we will see what support says tomorrow.

I was in that same spot a few weeks back. I got lucky and after disabling club face data 99% of the failures stopped.

Had 2 B4 errors within 10 minutes on the range Saturday morning.  Sun was shining right at the unit.  Pretty disappointed that it didn’t work well on my second time outdoors.

I've had A LOT less errors outdoors when I am able to get my unit in a shadow or bit of shade. I think a lot of these errors are caused by overheating. last weekend I was at the range in 103F heat and was able to put my bag behind the unit to cast a shadow, and I was able to hit for almost 2 hours with zero errors for the whole session.

Another update - Bushnell sent me a label to send the old one back to them and they are replacing it with a new unit. Let’s hope #3 works…

I had a lot of missed shots and misread spin (0) shots today. Thanks to this thread, I was able to go back to the original firmware and it was much improved.

are those that have problems with misreads and connectivity using wifi? I've only had issues with wifi connected to my home router, once I switched to USB (knock on wood) I've had zero issues

Does anyone have the Foresight Tech Team's email? Can you send them this thread link? Would be great if they can see all of these issues.

 

Ours has been working great. We connect direct to USB. It misses shots occasionally and gives B4 errors I notices when battery is below 30%. Also, my daughter notices anytime on longer clubs (mainly driver) where she hits it really fast and pure, it doesn't record it. She's about 95-97 ss and she's been going for speed, so we notice this on driver more. I think it was Phoenix at Foresight that said when you put the ball in the zone, it locks on. So I assume any movement on the mat might ruin the ball lock.

 

Since we got the unit, we put an anti slip mat between our mat and hard surface flooring. We also have a gym mat that we push the mat up against to prevent movement, but our new dog has flattened it LOL. Will trouble shoot and replace it. 

 

I know it's technology and a lot can be on setup, lighting, etc. When it locks (most of the time) and records the shot, I find it really accurate. We've put it against her coach's trackman as well and numbers are very similar. Hoping they can release new firmware to fix these issues. We use it a lot for practice almost every day, so tough to send it in and wait for a new unit. 

 

Hopefully they see this thread so they can note all the issues.

Could be the mat moving slightly or could also be connected to ball position at setup. For driver you want to have the ball farther back in the hitting zone to give the cameras more space to pick up the ball flight.

If it works great outside, it’s the set up

 

Another suggestion, change out the silver dots more frequently.

 

Since doing that, I rarely get a no read.

Most were on since December.

Thanks. I’m thinking it’s more the mat moving. We usually put the ball in back angled corner.

You can’t.

Foresight has to do this.

 

This happened to me with my unit.

My license was associated with a different unit than was shipped to me.

 

I double bought and waiting forever to get a refund.

I’ll wait till I talk to them in the AM. I almost bought another subscription today. Glad I didn’t.
