Where to play near Lake Winnipesaukee

I’ll be up there in a few weeks (Staying at the Naswa Resort) with my wife and was hoping to get a morning round in one of the days. 
 

Anyone have any suggestions, or need a partner to play with anywhere from the 14th - 17th of august? 11.3 index currently

We're heading up this morning. There aren't a lot of great public tracks up there close. We play Waukewan just because i've been playing there since I was 5.

 

Word is Owls Nest in Plymouth is good and wont be too bad of a hike from The Wiers. Mount Washington is supposed to be good too but that is a little ways away.

 

LWCC and Bald Peak look amazing- i have no way to get on though and not pay unaccompanied rate which is fairly hefty.

 

Would have totally hit you up on playing early if you were up there this week!

The Mrs. and I played Lochmere in Tilton last week. It was a fun track.

Lochmere and just down the road is Canterbury woods. My 2 suggestions there.

When I'm in NH, I stay in Moultonborough, right by Center Harbor.  Traffic around the lake does play a big role in where to play.  Last week I played Ridgewood in Moultonborough, and it was good enough.  It's been wet, and the greens are a little shaggy, but no different than say Waukewan.  Owl's Nest is a good course, but the distance makes that more of a day event than a morning round for me.  I haven't played Lochmere, but it looks to be closest to your location.  As for the privates, I've played LWCC and attended a wedding at Bald Peak.  LWCC is a very nice track, but guest fees are absurd - cart fees were $85 when I was there!  Bald Peak looks like fun, so maybe have your pro call and see what they say.  Bottom line, the Lakes Region is known for its lakes, not its golf, so plan accordingly so that you're not disappointed.

Bald peak doesn’t do unaccompanied guests in July and August, so that’s out. Maybe I’ll just have to spend more time with my wife 🤷🏽‍♂️

I can report from my trip up last week that the greens were fast and firm at Paradise Falls Mini Golf in Moultonborough. The 8 year old had 2 holes in 1, and one of those was right on top of my wifes.

Oh, I’m going with some pretty serious mini golfers. Would you say this is a clowns mouth type of mini golf, or a bit more contours and “have to hit the right angle to make the 1” type of course?

They buried elephants before laying the turf- lets leave it at that. The 7 year old really struggled with the water hazards on the back 9. "Resort" length and water hazards abound. Luckily for everyone this mini-golf course is so upscale they have a hole by hole flyover. https://www.paradisefallsminigolf.com/the-golf-course 

 

Also- this was the first mini-golf course I've ever been to in my life with a practice green with two cups. $8 per head, $11 all you can play. I woulda gone around again.

This place was really fun. Girls had a blast, not super expensive and someone clearly is so awesome of a person they put a commercial mini golf course in their backyard. I did cry a little inside knowing we turned right 3 miles before BPCC.

Might have to make the drive then. Much further than pirates. Who knows maybe we’ll make the entire tour. Will definitely plan my next trip to the lake for June or September so I can play Bald Peak.

Paradise Falls was worth the drive, and the lobster roll at Town Dock was insane on our way back as well.

I personally like the bucket drinks at Town Docks.  Nothing like 32 oz of Paloma to wash down the lobster roll.
