Ust recoil esx…..anyone try them?

Recoil shafts are great for juniors. I have used them in all of my daughter's iron sets and most of her woods/hybrids. When she got fit back in February, the fitter told me that for her swing speed (80 mph- driver) that recoil was the best option for her irons. I just got her Vokey wedges and they have recoil shafts in them as well.

Nothing wrong with recoil shafts.  It's been a few years but I think they tend to be a little more flexible as general rule.   They are also easy to get and good chance you can probably find them on eBay for cheap  and save a little money.

If you moving from junior clubs just want to take a guess they are a great choice.   We moved on to better shafts since we wanted a different flex profile.  Without getting things complicated they reason we ditched them is basically the way the shaft bent was not good for my daughters swing.    To know that though you are going to need to try different shafts and have a trackman and have a repeatable swing to fit a shaft too.

The fitter told me that my daughter was an easy fit because at 80mph or less with a driver, there are only a couple really good options for kids. Once you get past 80mph with the driver, then you start seeing a variety of options for shafts and the fitting process gets more involved. This is what Tiger referred to above.

Our rep said that the recoil esx 460 shafts have been discontinued.  Any ideas what will replace them?  My son uses these shafts in his irons and wedges.

I would guess it is there lin-q shafts.  I wouldn't worry about it though there a ton recoil shafts out there and you could probably get a good deal on eBay or online seller for a few years.

I wouldn't worry about getting perfect and shafts for a son your age.  All of us who had kids with growth spurts are sick of buying equipment and shaft. I truly wish I knew what I know now and didn't fall for all the equipment hype.  There is a lot bad advice from fitters and stores and online out there.

Not listed as discontinued yet on the website. Could be coming soon. I know per my Titleist source recoils had a quality issue last year so could be something along those lines to why. Check our Accra if you need something close to it, just have to have a dealer install them.

We use both the 450 and 460 in the irons, wedges, and hybrid.  Been very happy with them.

They are still in stock and available at Golfworks.

FWIW - golfworks is amazing.  Stay away from fairway jockey at all costs... they are the absolute slowest (even prior to covid).

There's definitely something more important that I should be doing.
