Ya you're not going to find 90-100g shafts anywhere to demo.

Anyone know if mizuno is going to update these this year? Their drivers/woods are yearly releases but irons are every other year I believe? swapping between mp and jpx?

if they will, I’ll wait, if not, I’ll pull the trigger!

So, to revive this thread, I have a Mizuno Pro Fli-Hi in the 21.5 degree and there are some definite pros and cons for me currently:

 

Pros:
- It looks great
- It gets good distance across the face
- Launches fairly high but is also hot (that may not be a good thing for some people)

- Black finish is holding up well so far
 

Cons:

- Feels exceptionally harsh on mis-hits (they still go but they feel terrible)
- I struggle a tad with this thing off a tight fairway lie whereas I didn't as much with my previous DI (Callaway Apex Forged UT)

- I think I picked the wrong shaft (currently in the PX 6.0 USteel which doesn't release the way I like but I thought I wanted the weight in the shaft....going to try a switch to a tensei blue hybrid shaft that I have laying around....WISH ME LUCK 😆)

Currently playing a 16.5 4w, 21* 7w and 4i at top of bag but curious about a Fli-Hi 3 but I'm unsure about where it would fit in between those clubs or if it'd just be excessive and overlap/mimic my current clubs.

 

Thoughts?

I have a driver swing speed of about 105-107 mph and my 4i Fli-Hi carries about 210 yds and totals about 225 (based on trackman with RCT ProV1x balls). It is hotter than a standard 4i (for me at least) as my 4i in a similar loft carries about 195-200yds. In case it is helpful, these are my averages with the Mizuno Pro Fli-Hi from a few trackman sessions (and consistent with what I see on-course):

 

 

So, for me, I think it would probably be a tight fit between your 7W and your 4i. I primarily use it off the tee as it doesn't curve much at all (I have a draw) and my hybrid can get a little hooky off the tee.

I'm seeing posts from Mizuno NA about a new Fli-Hi #comingsoon but no details of what's been changed. Only thing I can tell from pics is that they moved the "Mizuno Pro" from below the toe to the middle (right above the muscle) and the "Fli-Hi" has been moved from hosel to back of the head near the heel.

Mizuno says (Chris Voshall): “The Fli-Hi has become a fixture on tour – not just with Mizuno’s contracted players. The new version is a little slimmer but does everything the original did, just better. It flights a little higher and goes further. All obvious improvements – just difficult to make.”

 

I have the current Mizuno Pro Fli Hi and it is fairly large, the black makes it look smaller than it actually is. I could see tour players wanting a smaller profile. Also, I would guess the sole might be a little narrower.
