What is Maruman SPSS?

I posted this question over in classic section, but gonna try it here as well. Does anyone know what SPSS stands for? Is it stainless steel? I saw various models with that stamped on them. Googling for it, brings a worthopedia entry for Conductor LX SPSS but the seller claimed heads were forged. 🤷‍♂️

All Maruman Conductor irons have a copper underlay so I would guess they would be carbon steel and forged and not Stainless Steel.

I bought an old set of Maruman Tap 18 irons that look like and are from the same time period as the Ping Eye 2. Have been able to find very little info on them, but they have "SPSS" stamped into them. I heavily assuming the "SS" means "Stainless Steel". No clue what the first two letters mean, but likely meant to describe the manufacturing process of the stainless steel.

Check with a magnet if it's stainless steel or carbon steel.
