X3 vs TrackMan vs GC Quad

Looking for opinions/feedback on the X3…seems a good value?

I have a X3. I took a long look at the Trackman and GC Quad.  
 

In my opinion, the annual software fees were too much for the Trackman.
 

The Quad software is not the greatest. I have seen a few videos where it struggles outside. If you have Left and Right handed golfers it is a pain. 
 

The X3 you can use the Flightscope software for a driving range. It has the EO. You can pick any simulator software you like. GS Pro seems like a cheap, very good option. I will be going that route when my E6 runs out.

What does your setup look like with the X3? I've seen some complaints when used indoors, but am leaning towards it for all of the reasons you listed.

Looking at X3 maybe, but I have an Xi Tour so not sure of all the upgrades between the two. I know I do my lessons on Trackman and one thing that I really like about it (which quad also does) is strike position on the face. Any chance X3 has that feature?

Not yet. They're intending to add it but no ETA for completion.

How does the X3 do indoors with the Titleist foil ball?

X3 still needs metallic dot for indoor use for best results.  Think in the most recent webinar they indicated that the Titleist RCT ball will be an option in an upcoming software/firmware release.

 

FWIW, X3 is probably the best value of the premium radar or photo based options.  For indoor use, you really need to have your dialed to get the best results.  If that box is checked, it’s pretty good.  Looking forward to face impact location to see if they include in their ballflight algorithm.
