Seattle courses to play

I'm looking for some new recommendations when I visit my parents this summer. They live 5 minutes from White Horse and I have played there many times. I have played Chambers several times and love it. It's pricey for out of towners, but I may go anyways.

I can get on Canterwood Golf Club in Gig Harbor as I'm a member of an Invited/Club Corp club in Austin. How does it compare to Salish or The Home Course, neither of which I have played?

Any other recommendations? I have played Gold Mountain, Sahalee and Port Ludlow in previous trips. How exclusive is Wing Point on Bainbridge Island?

I haven't played Canterwood and don't know much about Wing Point unfortunately. Public golf in Seattle itself is pretty bad, so you're fortunate to be near the peninsula

  • If you liked Gold Mountain, I'd think about checking out McCormick Woods, ~15 minutes further from Kingston.
  • Trophy Lake is near Gold Mountain as well and the only Oki course I'll play at this point
  • Salish and Home Course are both worth checking out. I love Salish, not everyone does. Home Course is pretty universally liked. Home Course is a very easy walk, I don't know that you're allowed to walk at Salish.
  • If you've been to Sahalee, Willows Run in the area is another option (although I'd put it below any of the courses listed above and nowhere near Sahalee in quality, just proximity).

I would avoid New Castle like the plague. It's about as costly as Chambers and it's a dumpster. If you wanted to make the trek all the way to Snoqualmie ~30 past Sahalee, I'd be happy to have you out for a round on Snoqualmie Ridge.

I think Wing Point is exclusive and you shouldn't count on that as an option. Otherwise,

- Home Course is great. One of my favorites in Puget Sound area

- Salish is worth playing for proximity too

- 7 Cedars in Sequim isn't too far and can be fun

Agree with poster above to skip Newcastle. I would also highly recommend NOT spending the time commitment required to get from Kingston to Redmond to play Willows. Slow pace and crawling with young groups imitating the Good Good videos (lots of yelling, drunk kids) and would be an all day affair just for transit.

100% on the Redmond Ridge comment above. Wasn't sure if it was something else that took you out there to Sahalee, but if it's just golf, that's not where you're going to find it.

Headed northeast of Seattle to Woodinville for a wedding. Have time to slip out for an 18 on Saturday morning. Something decently close. Was looking at Echo Falls. Does that seem right?

If anyone wants to get out let me know.

Longshot but If anyone is a member at a good club let me know! Happy to return the favor in Los Angeles.

Echo Falls would be between Woodinville and Monroe.  Willows Run might be a little closer.  I haven't played either for many years.  https://www.willowsrun.com
