Any rumors on the next tiger woods golf shoes

Nike isn't releasing a new model this year. In typical Nike fashion they're going to release an older model and charge crazy amounts for it and people will buy it.

Golf Magazine dropped an online piece where the guys from Fully Equipped opined on a future shoe. Doesn’t sound likely anytime soon.

Theyre just going to cash in on nostalgia, now. The TW line of clothing will also wither away as the seasons go on.

I don’t see the need for a new Tw shoe. Even his retro is sitting there not moving as the price is ridiculous. 
Jordan is the way Nike is moving forward in golf from what I can see.

I watched the Fully Equipped piece & I understand that Nike makes more off of one style of Socks than all of their Golf shoes but I still don’t think that should keep them from being able to make a “TW Prototype” that has what he’s looking for, it is Nike after all… If he plays well or wins in them, that will drive attention to them.

You’d think after 2+ years Nike would have something that appeals to TW.  So crazy…

I've worn the FJ's he wears, they aren't exactly all that comfortable, The TW20 shoes are more comfortable IMO. I think he just wanted to switch it up because he is having a hard time walking, it's not like the FJ's helped him.

He needed more support so a more rigid shoe than a sneaker type that caves and moves. Everyone has a different need in shoes.

Yea I know, it’s not like the tw20 shoes sides cave in though if you tie the laces but whatever he thinks helps him.

You almost have to wonder how much effort they’ve put forth to try & how much TW’s multiple surgeries on his right leg/ankle have affected their efforts

Tiger is to golf what MJ is to basketball. Nike and Jordan still make signature (or numbered) Jordan’s, yeses after MJ retired. I don’t get the same feel of a need to continue making a shoe for tiger like I do with MJ. Basketball has a larger population that plays, especially now with how much it’s grown globally in the past 10-20 years. Maybe I’m wrong but I think soccer is the only game with a ball that beats basketball.  Anyway, all that to say I don’t think we see another tiger shoe and if we do, it won’t be sold to the public. I feel like we would have seen that shoe by now if it was a tiger exclusive.

I would think it's hard to make a new shoe for a guy who is only going to play at max like 5 times a year. Like they could make a prototype for Tiger, but then consumers are going to want it to come to retail and that's where the issues are. How do you market a shoe made for a guy that is going to play so sparingly and that will probably only work for his EXTREMELY specific needs?

 

It's far easier to keep producing apparel and get a guy playing regularly into it sort of like Jordan does with having guys wearing his shoes on the court. Tiger keeps making money from Nike without actually having to play, Nike gets to keep the Tiger name in regular conversation (he is still the biggest name in golf by a wide mile), younger players get the boost of being a "Tiger" sponsored player. I don't think the TW line breaks off into a separate brand the way Jordan did but that would be the general idea of where Tiger stuff goes moving forward. Maybe they try to get a younger less established player into the line and that helps them as they start on tour, I'm thinking someone like Gordon Sargent for example. That seems to be the most rational path moving forward for "TW" branded stuff. I think shoes are probably a thing of the past unless they want to develop of a signature shoe for another guy coming up like Russell Westbrook had with Jordan a few years ago. Signature shoes are just tougher in golf because there is no one that moves the needle like Tiger and the market is just so much smaller than basketball shoes. Even Spieth couldn't do it for UA
