New Bettinardi prototype putters - 2023 The American Express

Recommended Posts

Is anyone on tour playing a Bettinardi 7? Also, they seem to continue putting out tour models with the F.I.T. face - but not seeing many "Roll Control Face" models - outside of the Innovai's from a couple of years ago. Finally, why the inserts all of sudden?

Β

I love the Bettinardi that I have, and certainly think highly of their products, but they do seem to be a bit all over the place with their offerings to the public vs. what is available on tour.

Β

I suppose it's the same with Cameron. Just very odd what they put out for tour use and what they choose to put out for the mass market.

Actually its the complete opposite. Betti is always changing and trying different things. Like we see here, back to testing inserts like they did many years ago. Β Ling necks, different weights and sizes of the same models. Different materials, finishes and welds.
This is exactly what makes Betti the premium while Cameron has been lost for so many years only recreating the same thing over and over again in stainless steel.Β
Β

In fact look at this page and all the comments and then the Cameron pages. 1x comment/question.Β

- Something that continues to go long off the tee in the fairway
- Something that is a fairway finder when needed and long
- Something that high, consistent and helps with par 5’s
- Β Something to help with long par3’s and short par 4’s

- Β Something metal, lots of them and go the gaps I need
- Something metal, 2x of them and helps me 120y and in
- Putters - limited rotation because I cannot afford misses

Golf is what you make of it.Β  Play grateful and accepting. We are all lucky to have it.

Rather than expecting lets all try and appreciate instead.Β

Β

Appreciate the response, mon frer. But I believe you may be missing my point.

Β

I'd take a Bettinardi over a Cameron any day of the week.

Β

But, like Cameron, Bettinardi puts out a ton of models every year for the Tour players.

Β

Their OTR stock, however, is limited every year - a few Studio Stock, a few Queen B's, a few BB's. In total, probably 15-16 OTR models.

Β

Among those yearly releases, you can guarantee that two in each line will be an Anser/Dale Head and an Anser 2 head. Those will be replicated in every line. So, the choices become even narrower.

Β

Then, of course, you have the "hive" releases - which tend to be the same clubheads every year with just a bit of cosmetic difference - and cost over $1k.

Β

I know Bettinardi is not catering to the mass market - so cool. But, it seems as though their strategy is to disappoint everyone with their OTR offerings as a means to get them to pony up cash for a custom.

Β

If you've got $450 for a putter, you probably have a lot more. Both Bettinardi and Cameron are trying to get folks to spend that "lot more" part of their budget.

Β

Marketing genius, perhaps, but kinda weak IMHO.

Well said.Β  My apologies.Β  I completely agree with this above and very much do watch the Hive releases be well over $1500+.

It would be nice to have more OTR options and carbon options like they used to do.

That are different from years past.Β Β

Well stated and again my bad!Β Β

They make the best feeling putters.

Β

I don't get around as much as some people, but compared to what I've used throughout my golfing life, I'd have to say I agree.

Β

I have an SS7 with the Roll Control Face and I have yet to find anything that feels even remotely similar. Solid, soft, springy - so amazing.
