Putter Grip Rabbit Hole

Hi fellow golfers,

Recently I had my putter, Scotty Cameron futura x5, regripped.  The previous grip was the superstroke 5.0, I bought the club used and this was the original grip on it which I didn't mind.  Below is my stats from Sam putt lab when I tested with future x5 with the SS 5.0 grip.  I wanted to change things up and felt the SS 5.0 was too big, so I went to the Gravity Grip and honestly, my confidence with the putter is shook.  The putter feel just isn't the same with the gravity grip.  From my stats, I had problem closing the putter head and missing left.  Now, I'm looking to possibly switch again but unsure which grip to try now.  Most of my golf life I played with a pistolero grip. I'm looking for something in the mid size to prevent closing the putter face.  I think the gravity grip with the weight in the spine is also keeping the putter face closed.  I'm looking at maybe giving the Ping PP60, lamkin sinkfit, or SS 2.0 a try.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.  If all else fails, I have a spare pistolero grip to throw back on and completely hit reset with the putter.  For context, I use a traditional putter grip.

I don’t particularly like the feel of the SS Tour 2.0. Every time I get a new putter, I spend a bunch of time and money trying different grips. 
 

In the end, I finally admit to myself that I putt best with the SS Tour 2.0

I'm not a huge fan of SS grips.  Used the previous 5.0 since it was already on the putter.  I do like the pistol shape but not sure if this is a good fit for my stroke which is arch to square.

Thanks for the video suggestion.  Interesting stuff.  I would describe myself as a cover putter.  Another thing I've noticed is with the gravity grip I've lost feel and weight of the putter head.

I've tried every grip pretty much available over the years and always come back to the Ping PP58. I'm sticking with it from now on. Hate the SS grips.

As far as I can tell on a quick search the Gravity is 120gm and the SS5.0 is 90gm.  That’s a significant difference.  The heavier the grip is the more the putter feels light. IOW, you lose head feel.  
can you determine what grip the putter came with when new?

Nope, just the reg one. Never liked cord putter grips.

According to website, original grip was matador midsize 11"

It works great for me. It is just like the pp58 midsize regular grip, but, with cord. My previous putter grip was the standard Ping Man putter grip.

If you want to try a P2 Reflex Tour, one was gifted to me by @sticksgolf with the ask that I don't just resell it. I tried it out and it's too big for me, but I did like the shape (pistol-ish). I blew it on/off with air, so it's essentially new.

 

I'd be glad to send it to you for the cost of shipping.

I used to like the pp58 but lately I really like the pro only red star. It just seems to fit my fingertip style grip I do.

The regular matador is 77gms. So to get the putter “on spec” a similar weight would be required.  The P2 Tour is 75 gms, so that should work.  And you’ll likely find it’ll feel right.
