Anyone ever have luck booking courses 9 days out? It used to be effective in the past but I'm guessing now you have to be on the computer at midnight and hope you get lucky. I meant to do it last night and fell asleep and looking 9 days ahead now everything is all booked up. Anyone know the tricks to get times other than luck at Papago, GCU or Aguila? I heard Aguila is almost impossible anymore but haven't really tried until today. My group never plays there anymore because inability to get times.

It's worse than ever this winter, I stopped bothering and play elsewhere, as much as I love Aguila. I used to be able to find cancellations by hitting "refresh" a bunch of times the night before I wanted to play on the weekend, but even that dried up. Also frustrating is due to their lack of a late cancellation or no-show penalty, a lot of people no-show or short-show on the day of play.

The city courses often have weekend AM times pre-blocked off for traveling leagues, men's club, small group outings, etc. before the tee sheet opens at 9 days which sometimes explains what happens when you go on at midnight with your watch synchronized to the atomic clock, furiously clicking "refresh", and absolutely nothing is available until the afternoon.

I think the solution is to get a group together of at least 12 people at which point I believe they will allow you to block off consecutive times ahead of the 9 day window. I believe you have to pay the non-cardholder rate, but it's worth it if you can actually get a time.

This pretty much sums it up.  You have to get up at midnight and get lucky to get a time.  The best and most consistent access is through a men's league.  GCU seems to be the easiest to get times, but Aguila & Papago have been pretty much impossible.

Played there last Sunday with a 10:16 tee time. The starter mentioned there were a couple of groups with large blocks of tee times in front of us. It turned into a 5 hour round. I don't mind that they got those times, but when guys are grinding over every shot because of the Skins, CTP and final payouts plus side bets...it gets to be too much.

I did join the League there just to have an avenue to get on the course on the weekend once a month. My first event is coming up in a few weeks. I'll see if it proves any easier to get in. I think this event has 84 spots available, so that's tee times from 8:00 - 10:40.

Should have no problem getting in if you sign up when it opens. I’m not playing this month but would be interested in getting a group for another event it if our schedules align.
