Strong lofted 2i/DI

I’m sure this topic has been done to death so I apologize. I’m considering retiring the driver as I’m not great with it likely a mental thing. Anyone have recommendations for a 15° 2i/DI? My driver swing speed is north of 110 and my ball speed on a good drive is 160-170. If I could find a good 2i I could consistently hit 250-260 I’d be thrilled.

I think one of the Taylormade UDI driving irons was made in a 1 iron or 16 degrees. I can’t think of any 15 degree ones. Certain ones might be able to be bent a little stronger, like the UDI or Titleist T-MB, which is 17 degrees for its 2 iron. That’s the best I’ve got for ya. Good luck!

I'm a bit of a 1 iron junkie and for what you are considering there are quite a few options.  Here are some in general order of cost:

 

$ - OG Big Bertha 1 iron 16°

$$ - OG PING Eye 2 1 iron 16°

$$$ - TMAG Gapr Lo 2 iron (adjustable down to 15.75° I believe)

$$$$ - PXG 0311X Gen1 1 iron 15°

$$$$$ - Callaway Apex UT Tour Issue 16°

 

I've currently got the 3 cheapest in my garage and they will all get some bag time here or there.  If forced on pain of death to choose one to go out and play a round of golf for my life right now, the PING would get the spot in the bag.  Honestly.

The Ping eye 2 was definitely a thing of beauty. I have a couple of 1 irons in the garage I need to check the loft on them, maybe upgrade them to a premium graphite shaft.

The Arias D-23 2 iron could be exactly what you are looking for, it is a pretty forgiving mid sized cavity back with zero offset, it is 17 degrees as standard but it can be ordered in custom lofts as low as 15 degrees or up to 3 iron loft and is available in both 355 and 370 diameters which is pretty cool, it could be an awesome weapon for links courses plus I am not a fan of larger and chunkier driving irons with higher offset.

I had the Titleist U510 1 iron in the bag for a little bit. Was using it as a 3 wood sub but whenever playing somewhere firm and fast it'd roll out to 280. Stupid easy to hit too, especially off the tee.

I would seriously give something like the Callaway Apex UW a look, the 17* model can be bent a little strong and would be a rocket launcher while being far more user friendly than a 1i/2i.
