I can only say about KM 700, it is soft and solid at same time, never played others. But I hear many rave about MC502 being very soft, may be best amongst Miura line.

Looking at your irons, I would say you definitely fit for MC502 or even TB Zero. KM700 may be just a smidge less club for you. I would say KM700 is more P770/P790 side.

Tried all miura heads at TrueSpec. Nothing outperformed my P7TWs, but the KM700 was great. I love looking down at it. Very thin topline, and the longer head felt comparable to the lengthened blade of the P7TW. Unfortunately, they didn't have Axiom 125x in stock, but the new UST DART v 120X was very impressive. My 6i swing speed with that was 97-99 after hitting balls for an hour and a half with the modus 130x shaft. Swing speed with that started around 100 and decreased to 95-96 after an hour of hitting. UST DART v 120X is supposed to be a tad lighter than the axiom, but similar low-torque profile. Axiom still provides lower torque in the 125x, so I would go with that for the actual build.

Lot to unpack in the above but this thread turned out great for anyone looking to buy some new Miura irons.

TL;DR: Tried almost every Miura, got the MC-502s, feel is incredible and indescribable at the same time. Nicest looking clubs I’ve seen in a bag in a while.

I ended up going to TrueSpec twice, first to try the full spectrum of CB / a few MB irons where I found I absolutely needed Miuras and ended up with a toss up between TC201s and MC502s. (Can follow-up with another post on my experience with some of the other irons).

The second time I went back to try the KM700, 302, 502 and 201 again. My takeaways:

-KM700 look awesome, but as someone noted above the COG is further out  and had a noticeable difference in feel as you close the club face during a swing. This was different than any of the other clubs I mentioned and couldn’t get over it.

-302 largest of the above, very “full” feeling when you strike the ball. Wasn’t the biggest fan of the relatively large sole (both from an optics and personally my swing isn’t that steep). Last thing I found interesting was I didn’t notice an increase in distance using this ended up hurting my spin numbers as well. I debated using these for my longer irons to give the added forgiveness for off-center hits, but given the significant difference in the size of the club and soul, with, I prefer the consistency of keeping one set.

-201 as I said above the numbers for this club and the 502s were neck and neck so it ended up coming down to feel. Miura designed the cub with weighting on each end of the club face, but not the middle to encourage stability, that results in a less “full” feeling when you make contact (IMO). That might not bother some as much as others but when you’re picking with such a narrow margin of difference, I think it’s worth noting.

-502s (what I bought) to my eyes were the best looking clubs Miura offer and more approachable than the classic blades. Consistency of spin and distance on these clubs were pretty incredible and the contact feel is next level. I switched from the Callaway, apex pros, and for my longer irons lost 8 to 12 yards of carry. That said, what I lost in carry I picked up in reduced dispersion, distance consistency, spin rates and trajectory.

One thing I think it’s worth noting is these clubs definitely are more forgiving than a classic blade and the feedback from miss hits isn’t as brutal or punishing. Part of this I’m sure part of this is due to the face being smaller (bb excluded). That said I don’t want to give the impression these are similar to game improvement/players distance, they definitely are not. But if you’re looking to dip your toe on the water on blades, I’d recommend giving these / 201s a try.

Lastly, couldn’t recommend TrueSpec enough, guys there were awesome and went out of their way to spend extra time with me on getting the right clubs. And yes I realize TS and Miura are owned by the same people but in fairness to them, they didn’t push the clubs and did a fantastic job of giving me a fitting without the sales pitch. I cannot say the same for my prior experiences with club Champion… But that’s for a separate thread.

Hope the above was helpful, happy to answer any questions people have.

Good breakdown, I was lusting for the KM but now that has been relieved.

Would those of you who have played the 502 and 201 say they’re about level in terms of forgiveness?

For me it sits right in the middle of the two and maybe even leans to right in line with the 201’s. Ask others and they say it’s easier to hit than the 201’s.

I disagree with this as the 201’s have a wider sole and just beefier overall.

I’ve yet to see consistent response one way or the other

I appreciate it. For me the shaft has a big part in how irons perform for me in terms of delivery and consistency. I might give the 502’s a shot.

I know this is a Miura thread, but if you’re looking for something between an MB and players head (kind of where the 502’s sit), I play Proto concept C01TB and they are phenomenal.. but totally understand wanting to stick with a particular brand.

The KM’s and 502’s are amazing irons, just depends on what you are looking for in the heads (and if you can get the KM’s! Lol).
