Olde Beau vs Olde Mill Golf resort (NC/VA)

Any body play one or both of these courses? Looking for a weekend get away from Raleigh into the mountains. Are the accomodations worth a stay and play?

I stayed with some friends at Olde Beau. The food in the clubhouse was very good. All the pictures of the condos for sale look good, and I would think the rentals would be similar. The front 9 of the course is fairly traditional, but the back 9 is a bit quirky. Probably need to play it more than once to really know where to hit it on some back 9 holes. Some of the views on the back 9 are absolutely spectacular. I enjoyed playing it. High Meadows is across the street, and is a very good course. Roaring Gap is a Donald Ross course that is just up the street from Olde Beau, and is very exclusive and beautiful. You can drive in and take a look, but it’s tough to get on.

Haven't played Olde Beau, but did recently spend a weekend at Olde Mill.

 

It's a super fun course. Laid back. Very few "amenities" but fun spot to play some golf. Very beautiful.

Thanks, guys. Played Olde Mille a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. If you are looking for a peaceful place to play and a nice course, what a great place. Lots of condos with golf course views. The only problem is there's nothing around it. Hopefully, their restaurant is good.

I've played Old Beau a few times.  It's a beautiful course and definitely worth the trip.  Hitting up and down those mountains is a lot of fun.  I've never played the other one you mentioned though.  If the other is like Old Beau, it's definitely worth going.
