A week in Bend

Last year, we had an 8-man trip to Ireland (Ballybunion/Waterville/Lahinch/County Sligo/Portstewart/RP/RCD) and the same group leaves for Scotland next month (Turnberry/Prestwick/Troon/NB/Muirfield/TOC/Carnoustie).

I am really liking these trips, and am staring to plan something for next year.

Does anyone have experience with any golf tour operators who specialize in Bend, Oregon.

The courses I want to play include:
Brasada Ranch
Tetherow
Pronghorn
Sunriver
Crosswater

Given their proximity to each other, I do not feel I need to stay at each resort. Unlike the international trips, we may bring wives on this one and try to enjoy central Oregon when not play golf.

Is there a service available that can book all the tee times and get a group of eight the best deals for accomodations?

While it is possible to do myself, I am lookin for a service that does what the Ireland/Scotland tour operators do.

Never used them personally….

Note that two of the courses you’re looking at (Brasada and Crosswater) require that you stay on property. Pronghorn has a member and public course.

Non-players will be better entertained by staying in Bend. It’s also cheaper and more diverse. The accommodations at Tetherow are excellent for groups IMO.

If you / anyone on your trip is a member at a private club, you're able to get onto the private side at Pronghorn (Faz) fairly easily. Our pro was able to get all 12 of us on without an issue last fall.

Callaway Epic Speed- 8*

Callaway Rogue 5w

Srixon ZX7 3-PW

Titleist SM9- 50*, 54*, 58*

If you’re not opposed to spending a little money stay in the houses Tetherow rents out. Each house has 4 or 5 bedrooms and are awesome.

Brasada will be the harder one to get on but if someone is a member at a private club, Crosswater shouldn’t be an issue. The other 2 Sunriver courses are ok (Woodlands is better than Meadows, IMO) but I’d skip those and make the drive to Tokatee for a day.

Not sure about using a booking service but they would all be fairly easy to book on your own. You could spend your last (or first) night at Brasada and use that to get on there. Also, flying in/out of Redmond is as easy as it gets.

Thanks. Which are the courses that require an on premises  stay to book a tee time?

I think I will book the accommodations around those courses, then get the tee times at the other places.

Brasada is the hardest to get on without staying on property. The rest are somewhere between fairly easily and a modified public course. Crosswater takes a call from a pro, Tetherow is (was?) totally open to public play (you may not have 1st choice of tee times), Pronghorn is 18 public and 18 private but the private you just have to ask and be willing to pay a ridiculous rate.

That said Brasada is not a multi night stay. It’s in the middle of nowhere and kind of boring (but very relaxing). Go to Tetherow and under Stay click the vacation rentals. I’ve stayed (lived?) in 3 of the styles and they are all awesome. Couldn’t imagine a better place for a buddies trip. Only problem is most are 5 bedrooms which makes for an odd number for an 8 man trip. I know in the past the Head Pro or Concierge at Tetherow has made the call and got guests who were staying there on Brasada, Pronghorn (private) and Crosswater before.
