I played with mine on Monday. Really liked them. That texture is crazy as mentioned. Can already start to tell some of it is wearing down. As long as the spin stay consistent I’m good. Really like to look at address. A 60° high bounce And really liked it on the wet turf    I’ve never played a high, bounce wedge before and was a little nervous about it, but really liked is performance for the first round

Love mine so far after 5 rounds. Wonder how long that spin holds up?

Vokey 54D would be, on paper, closest to the 54 HB ?

and what about a vokey 58/08 m?

sorry… didn’t feel like skimming 14 pages

Here is a grind guide for the MG4 wedges. Looks like the HB would be the closest to the Vokey D grind.

Got to get out today and test my MG4 Raw 54SB and 60LBV wedges today. It’s still wet and dormant up here in the STL area so not the prefect conditions for these yet. I built these up a little differently from my normal setup. I went with Fujikura Pro95 graphite shafts but with D5 swingweight. Setup wise, I really like the shaft feel so far. Very active feel but nice low penetrating flight with TONS of spin.
I will say this, the LBV is exceptional in tight, firm conditions and open face shots. The grind is so versatile that you can slide it under the ball in any condition. I’m looking forward to putting this one in the bag this summer when it firms up here. Feel is a little firmer than I expected, but not off putting in any way. These spin as much as any other wedge I’ve played.
The 54SB was a good all around performer. Really impressed with these. They may play like they have less bounce, but I’m going out again tomorrow to confirm before I state that. If you’re looking at these wedges, you can’t wrong, as good as Vokeys or Cleveland’s.

How’s the forgiveness on the LBV? Sounds like you’re not going to play it when conditions are soft?

I assume you’re asking about turf forgiveness? In the soft conditions we have now it definitely will tend to dig, but not unplayable. By no mens was it not playable, but it requires control of the leading edge. As long as you keep forward shaft lean to a minimum it’s playable. However, the versatility and ability to open the face while keeping the leading edge still very low would make up for that to me. I’m going out again today in a couple hours to test it more. In firm turf, tight lies, or firm sand it will be VERY good.

Was able to get out on the course today and play a few holes. The course wasn’t near as wet as the short game area and the fwys are a bit tighter. The LBV was actually much better as far as turf interaction today. Hit some really nice full shots and the divot was pretty normal. The sole didn’t dig at all and it performed great and really spun. Was able to hit some bunker shots, pitches, and chips and I’m impressed. Not sure if it’s the Frankenstein build I used or CG location, but I love how flat these shots come off the wedges and just loaded up with spin.

Was able to test my LBV more today in the course. This grind is so versatile. Very easy to open the face and keep the leading edge low, however in normal conditions I didn’t find it wanting to dig at all. The more I use this the more I’m liking it. It’s like cheating on flop shots or open face shots off tight lies. It absolutely loads up on spin. Very impressed so far. I really enjoyed it hitting different shots around the green.

Thanks so much for all the notes. I have a fitting next Friday, and imagine I’ll probably end up with these, Vokey, or Ping. Want a versatile LW and based on the pictures of grinds the amount of bounce seems to go Ping T grind > TM LBV > Vokey T. I’ve found the Ping T super forgiving for being low bounce so nice to hear it seems pretty similar for the LBV.

If you want some closeup pics of the grinds I can take some and post. It’s funny you mention the Ping TS grind. It’s the only other wedge I’ve played that is comparable to versatility and ease of playing open faced shots.

Appreciate it! I’ve actually gone in the PGA store to compare so imagine I have a pretty good idea, but obviously nothing compares to actually hitting them. I know I’m splitting hairs here, but any differences between the Ping TS and LBV that you’ve noticed?

They are both really good but I would say the TS grind plays like it has a touch more bounce and the leading edge sits just a touch higher on square faced shots. However, the LBV is slightly better off really tight lies.

How’s the forgiveness overall (non sole)? Your beloved CBXs getting benched? How do they compare to others? You’ve tested a lot of wedges.

The MG4 wedges are not in the same class forgiveness wise with the CBX Zips. But nothing else on the market isn’t either. However, I think when I’m playing in firmer conditions or on links turf I’ll probably swap out my 60* CBX for the MG4 LBV.

I used to have a 52* wedge. P7TW won't help you with distance. I am planning to change with TW's lofts. PW will be 49, and then I can get longer forgiven irons. I am not playing #4 P7TW iron. I have 4H for it. I plan to look into different 5 & 6 irons to blend with 7-PW P7TWs.

I’m tinkling with the same.  I already have the lofts bent weak but am tempted to try out the Scheffler setup with 3 and 4 iron srixon utility.

For those of you that are gaming the 48 degree, is there visible offset?

I’m debating buying the 48 versus buying the 46 and having it bent to 48 to minimize any visible offset
