14 way vs others?

I've been using a 14 way bag for about a yr now but I'm not so sure I'm sold on the 14 way. It's like I have to fumble around to find my club then have trouble finding the slot it came out of. Anyone else find these issues or is it just me?

A slot for every club and every club in its slot.  

 

I like that aspect of the 14 way bag.  What I don't like is the jamming.  Not sure why I have so much trouble getting the clubs to seat down fully and get them out easily.

i've been using a 14 way bag for a few years now. i've had the same problem with the clubs jamming. i just bought a new bag the other day (mostly because i wanted to go back to a stand bag) that is only a 4 way. i thought the 14 way would help with keeping clubs easy to find since they each have their own slot, but i found myself accidentally doubling up on some slots and it was driving me nuts

Oh yeah that's another thing I've done a lot is put 2 clubs in same slot

IMO, thinking it's just you....

I've used 14 way for past 15 years at least, I find it easier to keep clubs organized.  FWIW they always go back in the slot they came from.

I use a 4 slot as it is a lighter bag for the times I want to walk the course with a bag on my back.

Those days are fewer as I get older, but that was the inital premise on why I have only a 4 slot.

I don't carry my bag but I have always liked the 14 way.  I got a Sun Mountain C130S, which is basically a cart bag with a stand.  Works on push or motor cart, and there is no club tangle at all.  Ever.  I love it.  Likely too heavy for those that carry.

Something to note with 14-way bags, make sure the dividers are full length.  Ive never had an issue with clubs jamming.

The one I'm speaking of is a full length and I don't have the jamming issue. Just the other issues I spoke of

Here is the one I have it's a Hot Z 3.0 it's a good bag just not sure I'm a 14 way divider guy.

If clubs are put in sequence, I dont see how you fumble to find your clubs.  It only took a round or two to get familiar with the location of each club.   In fact, I can tell right away if I am missing a club which has saved me a couple times on course. 

 

Only time I see a 14-way bag becoming a hassle or inconvenience is when its a free for all "any club any slot" with no particular order.

I have my driver and woods down one side, my putter is Top Middle, then my wedges are down the other side, then all my other irons is in the middle section

14-way with full length dividers.  Every club has a slot.  Every slot has a club.  Open slot = missing club.  Spaced, separated, clean & organized.  Done.

 

My son’s new 4-way has clumps of clubs in no discernible order.  It’s chaos.  Stresses me out just thinking about it.

My last bag was a 14 way full length.  Loved it until the cloth in the dividers began to wear and tear,  then they stuck and I had trouble getting them in and out.  New bag is a 14 way but not all full length,  I have a sticking problem with it.

I would give this setup a shot, this is a similar configuration to my personal setup.  Helps group and segregate clubs for ease of use.
