Wow just got these YONEX MB-301’s  for a customer can’t wait to assemble. I thought I knew what sexy was, but now I really know after seeing these in person.  You’d be hard pressed to find a nicer blade offered in the industry

I hit the 7i a couple of months ago at a demo day. Very nice to hit, and was rather taken with it.

 

The 3w (3D) was pretty good too, but with the Kaiza-HP shaft as an upgrade, it was more than I was prepared to pay.

I had a set of the Ezone MBs that I think were the predecessors of those TC-Forged irons.

 

Still kicking myself for letting go of them.

I could spend a long time looking down at these though... What a beautiful club. The hosel transition the short blade length, minimal offset. No nonsense.

So, I went to the range and they have the whole yonex line. The Mb are really nice. Very very short blade length.

 

The CB-301 is the better looking club. slighty bigger, but more balanced transition from hosel and less offset.

 

It's very similar to what was done with the MR-23 CB and MB. The CB seems to have less offset - both have more than the Yonex CB though.... IT had the Modus 105 in it and it felt really really nice in my hands.

 

Came home and started looking at Yonex on the old auction as you do... and I bought an old Yonex putter... The Japanese version of the Super ADX. Happy Birthday to me, I guess.

Those who know golf know that Yonex forgings are as good as it gets and their premium heads are made entirely at their headquarters in Japan. The quality control is top notch, way better than mass-produced clubs.
 

Their best irons sold for $250 each when released but here we are a few years later and Golf Partner USA’s site has on clearance sale sets of lightly used 301 CBs (smallest), 501 CBs (mid-size) and my favorite, the N1-CB that is sized between those two. The graphite insert boosts forgiveness across the face and lowers the CG. All look great and have multiple wins on pro tours. So for any who always wanted these but couldn’t see paying so much I saw a few lightly used sets on there with Modus shafts for about $300 for 5-P.  Won’t find them cheaper. Prices are well above that amount on eBay.

I've been gaming my MB501s and they are absolutely buttery and have pretty good forgiveness due to having a longer heel to toe profile compared to irons on this category.  I took out the NS PRO 125s and put in a UST Mamiya recoil 110s.  They are just so pleasing to hit.

You right handers! As I sit here in the desert of left handedness thirsting for a mere taste of the sacred waters of the Yonex fountain, you sit atop the oasis soaking in every drop… Curse you I say, curse you! 😂😂😂

 

All of those are some sweet looking sticks! The stripe on the MB’s doesn’t throw me off at all and they look great from the topline. Yonex knows how to make a good looking players iron fo’ sho!
