What do you have and why did you get?

Got a Bushnell Pinseeker 1500 w/ Slope and noticed NOBODY had some sort of rangefinder. Why not? Is it cost?

I have one too. I think the reason we don't see more on the courses is that other golfers just aren't as crazy about golf as we are.

 

Back in 1987, not many people had an email address. Maybe bags will come standard with a rangefinder in 20 years, or we'll be able to have a micro-rangefinder implanted just above the eyes?

Huh??? Lots of players have rangefinders of some sort. Do a search. By the way, Your Pinseeker is not legal for tournament play or for handicap play.....

I know... I use it in practice rounds and add info to a yardage book

Bushnell 1500 TE.....Bought it specifically for the pinseeker technology and because its waterproof....

Leica RF 1200. Bought it several years ago for rifle shooting but it works just as well on the the driving range. Never used on the course anymore.

Expensive but better quality optics than anything else out there.

I've heard some lessor models have trouble picking up small objects, such as flag sticks. I have never used one, so I have no way of knowing the truth behind that statement.

The few times I have taken it on the course I have never ranged a flag stick as I am always looking to land the ball somewhere other than in the hole.

 

When shooting I have had the RF 1200 out in dreadful weather, certainly far worse than you could play golf in, and it has never had a problem. Touch wood. Great piece of gear.

I use a Bushnell 1000 or something like that. Basically the model that the Pinseeker replaced.

 

I use it so much, it's become part of my pre-shot routine. When I first got it 2 years ago it improved my play dramatically.

I began understanding my CARRY yardage for each club, began to better understand "how to play a hole" based on it's setup, and became a much more consitant golfer (direct feedback on my club yardage). I no longer wonder if the yardage marker was wrong if I hit my approach long/short, I KNOW it was me.

 

It's really helped my game from 80 yards in (where we don't often see many yardage markers) and most certainly don't see the markers give "to the pin" yardage that is accurate.

Have a Callaway, I think it's a Nikon LR1200.

 

Love it...don't know how I played without one all those years.

Leica Pinmaster...love the red LED readout that automatically adjusts contrast to existing light conditions.

I just got the Bushnell Elite 1500 and wondered how far you can realistically get a reading on the pin? Also are there any tips on holding it steady?

I have the Buchnell 1500 Tournament Edition rangefinder w/o slope, so it can be used in tournaments and for posting scores for handicap purposes. It works great, really easy to use.

I have a Callaway LR800 also, got it at Christmas and Love it. Definitely helps me within 180 yds. Don't think I have over shot a green since getting it! Of course I have still fallen short but that's another issue... Know whoch club to get, just don't always get it!

Bushnell Pinseeker 1500 also. Could not imagine playing a round with it not in the bag.

You can have the GPS stuff. The Bushnell is all that any serious golfer needs.

I would pay $600.00 if it cost that. That is how important that it is to me.

A guy I play with uses his Bushnell on the driving range but never on the course. I think he's embarrassed to use it and thinks it slows play. The worst part is that he still asks me for yardages.

 

I think he's just old school.

I think part of enjoying golf is the preshot routine of guessing the yardage. I think if I get one I will be addicted to it in detriment to my enjoyment. Maybe its just me.

i had some store credit, so i bought the bushnell medalist... IMO, it was a very good investment

i had the same one the OP had for a short time, and i found it bothersome, and kind of a pain to use... part of the issue i had with it, was i wear glasses and i didn't like putting it right up to my lens...

 

i'm going to go the GPS route and see how that works out for me... i want instant info, and not have to fiddle around with a rangefinder...

I have Nikon 800, and my friend has Pinseeker 1500 TE...IMO, Pinseeker is better than Nikon 800 except it is expensive. But, I won't change my Nikon for a while. (I don't have a money to buy 1500 TE).

As long as there is a stake or lip of bunker to aim it at yes. Can you use skycaddies in tournaments and for posting scores for handicap purposes???

I have a 1500 no slope..Bought one after the skygolf gps didnt perform very well.

Bushnell PinSeeker 1500 Tournament Edition w/out slope. I have not used it on the course yet but have been amazed by the differences I found on the different ranges. NOTHING is where is should be!!! The 150' is at 140' and the 100 is at 110' and all the way to the back is only about 248'. Very eye-opening. I can't wait to take my new-found club distances on to the course and put them to the test.

Has anyone been able to compare the new Bushnell V2 Tour to the 1500 TE? I like the idea that it is more compact, but not if it does not perform...

Bushy 1500 TE for me too. Best golf investment I've made to date. Speeds up play, takes away the doubt and is EXACT.
