1 Day in Milwaukee

Flying into MKE for a wedding … have all day Saturday but have to drive back to downtown same day.  Where do I drive and spend my $$?  Distance is definitely a factor but not scared to drive an hour.  Please help.

Erin Hills and the Kohler courses are under 2 hours, but probably over an hour.  The best within easy reach would be Brown Deer.  Washington County would be within striking distance.

Browndeer has the Arnold Walker Championship this Saturday and Sunday so that probably won't work for the OP.
MorningStar is doable as is Washington County.

I'd avoid anything that is directly north on I-43 as the interstate between Glendale and Grafton is a disaster with the freeway expansion.

If you can drive and don't want to pay Kohler\Erin Hills prices you can hit up the Bog or the Bull.  If you need to stay more local Brown Deer is awesome, the home of Tigers first professional event and a previous PGA course.

I’m going mid Sept so shouldn’t be an issue.  Would that change your recommendation?

I prefer prairie style (Wash. Co.) and linksy style vs. parkland/tree lined (Brown Deer).   Morningstar is kind of a mix of both.  All three offer plenty of elevation change and are quite fun tracks.  I'd rank Wash Co, Morningstar, Brown Deer......but it's very close and if you prefer parkland then I'd flip that order!  IMO you can't go wrong with those three!

Kohler would be fine, just plan accordingly. With the interstate being expanded from 2 lanes on each side to 3 or 4, everything is ripped up on I-43 from Glendale (about 5 miles north of the city) to Grafton (about 20 miles north of the city). You mentioned having to drive back the same day, I would just allot for the time. Kohler is normally around 1 hour from downtown give or take so figure on some additional time getting there and back.
