Wedges with leading edge relief

I’ve found that I really like a leading edge grind on all of my irons, and seemingly wedges.  I love the turf interaction from my Proto Concepts and also enjoyed the new level 902pd’s.  The 58/z grind Callaway Raw wedge is my favorite lob I’ve had in awhile.  I’ve ruined a few wedges trying to get a similar grind on a 54 but just can’t seem to get it right.  I’ve never had an issue adding a little extra heel relief to a wedge and I really thought it would be easy to add a leading edge grind (prob is for someone who knows what they are doing) but it turns out I suck at grinding wedges. Any tips are appreciated but I’m running out of retired wedges to ruin…
Going with one of the manufacturers that has a custom program is probably the best bet, but thought I would ask if there is anyone who is making nice wedges and has an OTR offering with a leading edge grind.  Thought I would check that before spending extra to get a custom Cleveland or Ping.

thanks!

TM MG4 Tiger wedges have the best leading edge relief in the biz if that’s your thing.

I second this

These look fantastic.  I’ve always been a 54, 58 guy so that is the only reason I haven’t tried one.  I’ve recently started playing a 56, 60 combo (got another Callaway z grind in 60).

All the current gen Callaway Jaws Raw grinds have that similar leading edge “chamfer”. Aside from those the PING glide 4.0 S grind may work for you as well.

Thank you for the suggestion.  While they all have some chamfer only the z grind has the amount I am looking for.  I really wish they had a higher bounce option with the z grinds aggressive chamfer in a 54 or 56.  Even a W grind with aggressive leading edge chamfer.

Be sure to test MG3 & MG4 "Tiger " They're in medium bounces as you mentioned along with leading edges.

The New Level SPN S grind wedges fit the bill.  I'm a fan.

It’s really hard to beat getting it done as a custom job.  It might costs a little more, but you can get exactly what you are looking for.

Had my local builder grind my t22 wedges recently.  The turf interaction and the way it feels through impact is incredible!  You can see in the pics below.  Had the D grind and put a leading edge grind, trailing edge relief and some extra heel relief.

That looks great!  I’m going to pick up some thrift store wedges to practice on a little, as I can’t see any reason I shouldn’t be able to do this myself.  I’ve never had an issue with getting other grinds right, but I have not done it that much really and this one seems to grip me up.  I thought I had it down and then ruined a brand new ping wedge as well as a zipcore wedge. I also ruined some old wedges.  Some have come out sharper, which is obviously the opposite of what I was going for, and others just don’t feel quite right. Seems like it should be a very easy grind to execute.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
