2021 T100 vs 2023 T100

Can someone give some comparison between these.  Currently play the 2021 t100 and I actually like the looks of the '21 better.  Is it worth upgrading.  What is the actual difference on the course?

The fitter told me slightly improved turf interaction and a bit more spin on the new t100, otherwise very similar.  I couldn't tell much difference hitting them. 

Don't take much of a divot and didn't want more spin, so I went with the old ones.

I prefer the look of the new ones, but saw no difference in performance. I’ll “upgrade” at some point next year.

I am nearing the need to replace my ‘21 T100 irons. Front those that went from ‘21 T100 to ‘23 T100…is it really “like for like”? I see someone above mentioned the new ones have more spin?

I would say they are pretty much the same.  The only difference I  saw is that the 2023 launched a little higher. Spin was very close to the same.

Pretty much the same…the newer one looks better imo tho.

I actually prefer the look of the older ones so I didn’t make the switch. My brother in law got the new ones. The top lines look a little thicker and give them a “larger” look to me. Just my opinion. I kept the ‘21s in the bag and I love them. Might just try to buy a new set to keep when I get the itch for “new” irons as the faces are starting to brown.

Correct, I am not sure why everyone keeps saying new ones are like blades, to me they look bigger, not worse or better just top line looks bigger.  Now in terms of performances I can't really say much since I went to T100 from T100S, but I am definitely getting heights I have never gotten with irons.

I got a set of the 2023 T100 with some Axiom graphite shafts to help me with some tendinitis I've been dealing with.  I have played the 2021 T100 with Oban CT125 in Stiff+ for 2 years and would put them as one of my top 2 irons I've ever owned.  A few range sessions and a round of golf with the 2023 T100 and I don't see much of a difference.  Flight and turf interaction are identical to me.  Feel on the 2023 is firmer, but I think that is more down to the Axiom shaft versus the new T100 club head.  Overall the 2023 is a great club, but if you have the 2021 it's not an upgrade. 

 

The T150 4 iron I got is VERY different than my T100s 4 iron though.  I much prefer the T100s with the thinner sole.

Just got the ‘23 and like the comments above. They are definitely a thicker top line. I didn’t notice any difference in any numbers on gc quad until 6 iron. ‘23 t100 6i was 1.5 mph faster ball speed and 3 more yards of carry. ‘23 t150 was 3.5 mph faster ball speed and 8 more yards of carry.

Man, side note, but the Oban CT iron shaft lineup are probably the best feeling iron shafts I’ve ever hit

Looked at 2023s again.  I keep hearing "improved turf interaction", honestly the 2021 T100 is the best club through the turf I've hit.  Maybe I'm crazy, but I think they just rolled the leading and trail edges a bit so they would be easier the weaken/strengthen lofts without affecting bounce or offset visually.

Finally had the chance to play a few rounds w the 2023 coming from 2021 and I find them noticeably softer. Anyone else finding the same?

2023 have a slightly bigger footprint to my eye, short irons in 2021 looked a bit more compact 

 

2023 are thinner topline and noticeably less offset in the long irons, which suits my eye better - they look better at address in the long irons (4-7) but I liked the look of the 8-PW better at address in the 2021, just more compact 

 

2023 are a bit hotter off the face and fly a touch further and since I had same shaft in my 2021’s (PX 6.0) I don’t think the new ones spin more - they fly a touch higher but carry further, so spin is controlled just the same 

 

I like the 2023 better. I notice slightly better turf interaction & a little softer - I didn’t have complaints about the 2021, but feel like I can hit the 2023 out of any lie, noticeable improvement. I hit the 2023’s better and I thought very highly of the 2021’s

 

Glad I upgraded but my handicap is still the same 😉
