Yo! I’m a golf nut, frequent mid-am tourney chaser, former college golf (Go Dawgs!), physical therapist, and strength coach. Play at a +1. I live in the Tampa area and am a member at Feather Sound and Pasadena Yacht & Country Club. I live for and love tournament golf.

 

Here are my sticks!

 

Best Club — driver. Got it setup for what feels like anti-left. Has a hot spot towards the high toe side of the sweet spot. Strangely reminds me of my 983K days. Such a great stick.

 

Most Trusted — ping hybrid with ADDI 8x. Any time I feel a little stressed off the tee. This thing gets it done. Feel like I can hit it 250 or 210 and it doesn’t curve much. 

 

Favorite Setup — the ISS putter. Nicknamed it the international space station for obvious reasons. So easy to line up!! 8 foot and in killer.

 

TSR3 at 8 deg with PD 60TX

TSR 3 at 15 deg with Tensei White 70x

Ping G30 at 19 deg with ADDI 8x

Vokey Raw 50 54 60 TI S400

Odyssey International Space Station

 

I’ve dabbled in the KBS $ line, modus line, project x, and even steel fibers. Time and time again go back to the x100. Falls straight down. Smooth and love knock downs with them. Hope I can stay fit enough to play DGs forever.

The new T series is pretty awesome....I only got to hit the TSR woods as rentals when i was travelling but i really liked them. Titleist didn't do any demo days at my club , and i ended up with Srixons.

My question though…is carrying as bad for you as I’ve been lead to believe? I don’t mind pushing but there’s something nostalgic about carrying.

Great question. This is certainly case to case.

 

If we are talking about pain (neck or back for example), the answer is totally different. If we are talking about function (I.e. ability to swing and develop force), that’s another answer.

 

I think of all functional tasks in life as having a “threshold” for tolerance. This threshold increases the more robust and stronger we are. I cant throw 100 fast balls, but I can hit 100 golf balls easy. I’ve built up the stamina to do so…my grandmother can no longer stand up from a chair without help. Her threshold for said task has lowered below the demands.

 

So with carry a bag, it depends. I do love the nostalgia of it. I personally lighten my bag up with the bare minimum—sleeve if balls, 2 gloves, laser. It’s a fun feeling.
