Gary Woodland in PX6.5?!

Haven’t seen him swing lately but he used to be a Ctaper130X guy, but his latest Cobra set has PX6.5s. That’s quite a big difference. Wondering if anyone here has the inside info?

I made the same move about 2 years ago and it's not as big of a change as you'd think.  Maybe it is for a pro who's swung that weight and shaft for their whole pga career

I agree.  PX 6.5 is pretty stout and harsh and so is the C-taper 130X.  The differences I saw were the numbers where PX launched slightly higher with more spin than C-taper.

I'd also like to add that Gary used to play the RPG Gold which isn't for the faint and tough to load and has switched to the Ventus TR Blue which is a slightly softer profile.  The guys is still a monster off the tee averaging low 180's ball speed for driver but can still easily top out in the low 200's, however, I don't blame him for moving onto shafts that are a hair softer.  Must be a feel thing.
