Titleist LinksLegend Members Bag vs. Vessel Players IV for TOP-LOK Fit

Recommended Posts

Finally playing Bandon Dunes for the first time next month, and decided to upgrade to the Vessel Players IV. Just got and and sadly it doesn't fit in the Top-Lok mechanism of my Bag Boy Nitron. Ideally I'd like my new bag to fit because Top-Lok really helps keep the bag super solid. Considering returning it for a Titleist LinksLegend Members bag- anyone know if the Titleist will fit the Top-Lok?

I stopped by my local Roger Dunn and answered my own question! The Titleist LinksLegend Bag leg mechanism DOES fit perfect the the Top-Lok of the Bag Boy Nitron. It's also a very nice bag- guess I'll be buying a LinksLegend!

Now I gotta choose between the blue and green.. 🙂

I thought only BagBoy's bags would fit the Top-Lok mechanism...?

When you say "fit" do you mean actually lock into place or just won't conflict w/ the cart's straps / side "wings" that hold the bag in place?

I'm also looking for a nice bag that will fit my Nitron. One of the other issues I feel that I've seen people mention is the cart strap's will rub off or dig into the synthetic leathers. Have you seen that?

I've also considered the following:

- Sun Mountain Mid-Stripe

- Vessel Players IV DXR

- Ghost Ronin

- Titleist Hybrid 5/15

- Taylormade Flextech 14

However, I don't think I've found the 'perfect' bag... it probably doesn't exist and at this point I'm driving myself nuts.

Yes, Initially I thought only BagBoy bags would fit the Top-Lok on the Nitron. However after I bought the Nitron, I was pleasantly surprised when my Titleist Players 4 Carbon fit the Top-Lok perfectly (no wiggle at all, perfect fit and locks in tight). And I am NOT talking about the folding side arms (which by the way work great w Titleist bags also). I mean the bag fits the Top-Lok static base. Literally as if Top-Look was designed for Titleist bags.

Do you mean carts straps on the electric carts? Yes I've heard that also. I mat get the cart strap sleeve that Vessel makes to alleviate that.

The world of golf bags (golf anything for that matter) is big, that is for sure. There are pros and cons of both Titliest and Vessel bags and I may just get one of each (Titleist when I use the Nitron, Vessel when I ride) considering how much I've debated it.

  • 1 month later...

Thought I'd update my own thread here with some interesting developments 😁 in case it may provide some info and help..

Given the TopLok fit issue with Vessel bags, I bought the Titleist Linkslegend which is a very nice bag in its own right, and fits the TopLok of the Nitron perfectly. However, after playing a couple of rounds I realized I feel the Vessel bags are just better designed (materials, fit and finish, magnetic closure snappiness, legs that don't droop like the Titleist does, etc.) So, I ended up returning it for a Vessel Player IV Pro. The plan now is to use the Players IV Pro when I ride, and my old Titlelist Player 4 Carbon when I push the Nitron.

One last gripe about the Player IV Pro is that I do hate the new tacky metal logo plaque above the handle (wish it was rubberized Vessel logotype like the III) but oh well. Otherwise very happy with how all this craziness turned out lol.

Interesting observations! I had a Vessel Player III and I don't think I've ever hated a golf bag more. Had the exact opposite impression of the Links Legend and had been considering buying one. The leg droop that you mentioned would be a concern, for sure. Could you explain a little more about the other issues in terms of materials, finish, etc., you were running into?

I dont like the logo plaque either.  Everything else about it is perfect.  I am thinking of putting some velcro on top of the plaque for a glove holder since the spot where they put the velcro is pretty small.
