Can you make a putter with toe hang face balanced?

Is it possible to make a putter with toe hang and make it face-balanced?  I prefer to play a blade, but not many face-balanced options are available.   

 

Could you take an Answer/Newport-shaped putter with removable weights and create a face-balanced putter with a lighter weight in the toe and a heavier weight in the heel?  If this works how would it affect how the putter plays?

 

Edel does this by removing the weight from the toe.

No, it's the shaft axis that determines toe hang along with head shape. 

 

Edel is a bad example you see how much weight they need to remove to make a putter toe up? Also the COG on an Edel at least last Gen was so heel side the putter felt well awful and twisty. Pretty sure an 8802 had a COG more center.

Thank you for confirming . That’s what I thought.  I’ve tried center shaft putters, but found them to be inconsistent.

Like MatM97 said it’s shaft axis. If you really like the putter maybe look at a customization with a long plumbers neck…

I believe it can be done via the shaft. For example, the 1997 Scotty Cameron Sonoma is an otherwise blade putter, yet it is absolute face-balanced. The shaft is unusually bent to achieve the balance.

Scotty also achieved it via long neck models, as mentioned, but that is a radical putter modification.

That Newport 2 long neck finds its way back into my bag all the time. I wish it had weight ports in the bottom. Mine has a decent amount of lead tape on the back to add weight. Your Sonoma is gorgeous.
