Golf trip with non-golfing wives?

Recommended Posts

Our wives have been jocks since college; drinking, language, gambling, poker, hitting casino's, even bars and strip clubs no different.

FYI, my buddies and I are of the masculine persuasion, and we like strong women.

It's great that those trips work for you and I don't question that the women who participate have many strengths. I play in many co-ed golf events. From my experience, being a strong woman has zero correlation with  "drinking, language, gambling, poker, hitting casino's,  bars and strip clubs "

My non-golfing wife has been with me a few times. Her ranking is as follows:

1. Pebble. She likes to run and the scenery is fantastic. Carmel for shopping, she really liked the spa, and dining was good. Sorry for the hit to your wallet.

+1 for Pebble. My wife and I have gone twice. The first time in 2013 she was a very casual golfer - played maybe 2-3 times a year. She only played the Pebble round with me, but she rode along for the Spyglass round. With that and all the other activities we both had a great time. She even remarked afterwards that it was the "best trip she'd ever been on"

In the time between 2013 and 2021 (when we went for a second time) she became a very avid golfer. Plays about 75-80 rounds a season now. On the second trip she played most of the rounds with me, taking one day off to go to the spa.

It's usually why males don't like women on trips; they're inhibited with them in the room and or chauvinists.  And maybe took what I said in a limited fashion.  Good luck

Casa de Campo would be great if the ladies like to hangout by the pool and beach. Top notch golf.

Sea Island could be great as well.

Someone else mentioned Cabo and that would be an option. One potential roadblock is a lot of the top courses are connected to certain properties and you have to stay there to play them. These properties usually aren’t conducive to getting to and from downtown Cabo for restaurants and nightlife either.

French Lick Resort could be good for a shorter type of trip. 2 really good courses on site and another in Sultans run about 30-45 minutes away. The hotels are historic with spas, pools, casino, and well kept grounds. My knock on it usually is not a ton to do after dark but with a group including wives that may not be as much of a knock. Wouldn’t work in March either. June- mid October is best.

Maybe it’s too close but Myrtle Beach would be a good option. Plenty of golf and other things for the ladies to do.

You completely misunderstood my point. I enjoy playing golf with many women. Some  are lawyers who are partners at large law firms, some are CEOs and CFOs, some are entrepreneurs who led there own businesses and others have been stay at home moms raising kids. Very few of these very strong women were into drinking ( other than wine with our post round meals), poker, casinos or strip clubs. You seem to think the only way a woman can be strong strong is to like the same thinks you like. That's chauvinistic. My point is that strong women come in many forms with many interests and there is no correlation  with the things you listed.

For some reason my wife says I can go on as many buddy trips as I like.

Mine too! And she always emphasizes that I must call before I head home. Hmmm....

We don't think alike, so I will leave it there.

I've been on a few trips with agency guys I used to train with and a few golf trips with x-football players.  The only difference is the trip label, and women vs all guys.  Our wives have been jocks since college; drinking, language, gambling, poker, hitting casino's, even bars and strip clubs no different.

Outside mental attitude regarding women and getting away from them, I don't understand how your guy trips are different from mine.  FYI, my buddies and I are of the masculine persuasion, and we like strong women.

All good.  You have a unique group of wives.  The real world is typically quite different.  😉

In any case clearly the OP's group of wives are not like yours, given he's asking for non-golf activities.
