I do the same thing.  Straight to 5W dialed down to 17º. 3W goes too far. Rather choke down on the driver and use the 3W slot for a more useful club.

I’m starting to feel a driver choked down to the graphite is a higher percentage shot than a 3 wood for me as well.

As a retired golf pro, Driver to 4W/5W was my recommendation for the classic "I hit my 3W just as far as my driver" - you blow guys minds and then show them the Bunt driver options and they ask why no one had ever recommended it before. Plus it helps justify the annual driver purchase to those guys.

This has been one of those things I'm trying to decide if I want to get rid of the 3w and just get like a 4/7 combo, but I do like having the option to get at a par 5 or two on my course.  I couldn't tell you the last time I hit the 3w off the tee, its a 3h or a driver and almost nothing inbetween.

Pound for pound kid is one of the longest players I’ve ever seen! Saw him play mini tour events for years and he’s got all the talent in the world.
