I have always enjoyed Jones bags, but I just HATE the "cooler" pocket.  I wish they'd just make normal bag style ball/tee pockets.

The website today is showing the Rover Stand (Coming 2024) in the Our Models section of the Golf Bags tag - no $$ info but the breakdown on the bags are there - I will be first in line for the black and gold - Go Vandals!

I wish they'd just throw a stand on their Original carry bag ... but it's probably not physically possible.

I know its one of those things that seems pretty dated in all honesty, but maybe its just a "Jones thing".  Have a bottle pocket/sleeve that every other bag company has, no one needs a cooler pocket on a carry/stand bag.  Give me an easy place to put a couple of sleeves of balls and ball mark tools and tees and then a sleeve to put my insulated bottle.  If they just had better pockets I'd absolutely have a Jones bag vs my SM...

No cooler pocket on the new Rover. It’s a ball pocket under that flap (unlike the Trouper’s cooler).

It does?  It doesn't show up under their "standbag" section is why I thought that.  

 

Edit - Oh duh, thats the 3 diver ones up above isn't it?  I wasn't thinking that the ones we're seeing above wont' be on their website yet...

These look great. I have a Rover from a few years ago and this looks like it has some nice improvements like the new straps (definitely more comfortable), looks like a little more storage. I didn't ever mind the cooler pocket but I'm not sure where water bottle storage is on this one. Maybe they are finalizing the details next few months and adding a side external one. 

 

A stand a nice but not necessary for a bag this small. I just hope it doesn't add weight from the previous model. As long as they make that work I might cave and buy this as a third Jones bag for a March 2025 Bandon trip. 

 

The new flex base bottom mold would be a huge upgrade for the Trouper model.

I agree that the Trouper pockets are weird. This new bag appears to be an upgrade to theUtility Stand that I have been using for the last year. The pockets on that one are fine / normal. The large cinch pocket is basically the water bottle sleeve, just larger than most. Perfect for my 1L Nalgene.

I'm still hoping they'll bring back the old smaller leg mechanism where it starts like halfway down the bag. They said to stay tuned a few years ago, but it doesn't seem to have materialized.

Random thought ... I just started using a Sun Mountain metro ... No full length dividers ... I've never had less club tangle.
