Tuesday @ Masters

Hey, all:

I wanted to post this to help a friend of mine who will be going to the Masters Tuesday next week to get a better idea of how to plan their day outside of hitting the pro shop early and walking the course as well to start with.

We are trying to get a better idea of how to plan my friend's morning outside of seeing a related post which is for Friday/Saturday to see what time will be reasonable to get to the parking lot knowing early is best since we're not sure of what time the lot will open.

That way, my friend can better figure out the timing for Tuesday when the time comes.

Thank you in advance if you share your thoughts here for me to pass on to my friend at some point.

Parking Lot is open sometime before 6am all days. People then line up. Groups of 300 or so people are then allowed thru the ticket scanners starting at 7am; a group about every 5 minutes. You walk past the range and then you're in the area with the store, concessions, restrooms; all of that will be open. Then at 7:45-8am they allow people onto the course. I parked at 6:20am on MON and WED last year, was in the merch store both days by 7:20, merch then checked next door for later pickup by 7:30, and then drinking a beer well before the course even opened.

A gazillion threads on this - Tuesday not really any different than Monday. Some folks will give you to the minute itineraries - if those are for you, enjoy. Then the merch first or last and so on. Whatever works is the answer.

The advice above is pretty good re the shopping. We did it last in the day when we went, but were there two days.

Get the pic by the flag right away after getting merchandise.

The rest? Your friend will have to decide like any other event. Walk with some groups for awhile, stand at a coupe of spots and watch (ball skipping at 16 is fun for about 15 minutes, lol), just walk the course and take it in, sit on the range for a bit, eat, eat, eat.

No wrong way to do it.

Thank you for your input which I know my friend will appreciate to help plan their day next week.

Also, I wanted to add to my initial post to see how my friend will know who will be going out/is out on the course for their practice rounds throughout the day outside of walking around and then see who is out on the course? I'm sure the practice range area is a good starting point to see who will be going out knowing it could be either on 1 or 10.

I'm sure my friend would like to see certain players at some point throughout the day but am not sure of whether there will be sign(s) on the scoreboards as in who's playing across the course.

You don’t know who’s going to go out until 10-20 minutes before they decide to go out, some might schedule further ahead. Small scoreboards with who’s going out on #1 and #10 and their time.

Who’s gonna start the threads for the other days of the week? 🙂

My friend was wondering if the major shipping vendors like UPS/FedEx will be in the area of the store/check-in area with the price range to ship it which I know will depend on how many items will be shipped by then.

Also, I saw this posted somewhere online or here in one of the old post which I can't put my finger on whether there will be a check-in area/place for phones before going in outside of having to leave them in our cars but don't want anything to happen to it if it's hot during the day.
