I pulled my 5 iron today and noticed an obvious bend that started just below the ferrule.  The irons are 712 MBs and have C-Taper S+ in them. Knowing that C-Tapers have a history of bending at the tip I checked the entire set.  These irons have never been hit off mats, and looking at the heads it is obvious they have never hit anything hard enough to bend them.  However, when looking at them every iron except the PW appears to be bent.  The 3, 4, and 5 are obvious.  Looking at the  6 - 9 all of the ferrules have a gap between them and the hosel square with the face and are pinched on the backside.

My question is if anyone has dealt with KBS regarding this issue recently?  If yes, did they work with you to get them fixed? Yes they are older, but these have been my backups since new and I would guess the have less than 50 rounds on them.

It's been discussed on the forum that the 712 MB's have different hosel insertion depths through the set, the 3-7i are shorter than the 8i-PW. The idea is to make the tip of the longer irons more active to make it easier to launch the ball but it does make you wonder if that would also create the problems you've seen.

KBS has and always has had an issue with their shaft tips bending.  Contact them  and I'm sure they will send out a replacement set of shafts (that will do the same thing).  The feel of the shafts is a double-edged sword.  The feel is what people like and the design is what makes them susceptible to bending. FWIW, back when I did a lot of repair work, it was rare event to find a KBS tip that I took apart that wasn't bent.

Interesting and I did not know that.  I am sure that doesn't help when using shafts with unreinforced tips.

KBS should have a warranty. However, going on an assumption here, something that is 12+ years old is not a warranty issue, and would fall under normal wear and tear (like a grip wearing out, a  head cracking, etc.) Golf clubs are just not meant to be used infinitely without something failing. If you have had these reshafted from an authorized dealer in the past 2 years I would contact KBS. If you bought them used, you could try as well but they may have grounds to say sorry, you're SOL. Anything outside of 2 years you could also try but most equipment warranties fall in that 12-24 month window with some exclusions.

As others have said, it never hurts to try but don't be too upset if they say no given the age.
