He's won at Vahalla a long time ago but I don't expect him to crack the top 10 this week, although I do expect him to finish all 4 rounds.  The course doesn't look too hilly so he should be g2g.

The guy's detail oriented so I'm pretty sure he has a good reason why he went that route.  He's one of the very few besides Mickelson that wears metal spikes nowadays.

Yeah I'd love to hear his reasoning, gotta reduce some strain on his body through impact if I had a guess.

Agreed, it's location is too relevant to where pressure on the right foot in transition goes to not be for a specific reason:



That first move down from the top sees the exact spot that one non-metal spike is located being shifted towards and pressured as he works left, so if I had to guess it's a slightly softer feel with more "give" from that spike compared to the "grab" of the metal one which maybe reduces a little bit of tension in that right ankle/lower leg. Or maybe he actually gets *more* traction from that spike, who knows. It's gotta be something like that though.
