i've been doing a lot of other things while watching, it just lacks the excitement factor as said above ^^... its just really boring and nothing has been great in my opinion except Snedeker's eagle on 2.... i dont mind having Immelman win, the only problem is i lost a bet to my dad.. if tiger wins i wud get a new 3W and if he didnt then i would have to wash his truck every thursday for a month.. so that's the only bummer part

Agreed...i was cooking all day, and sometimes i would forget the tourney was on....

Although I think this is a testiment to how human Tiger is. The point being, the guy doesnt hit every put. In fact, he can also miss 7 foot birdie putts now and again. Im glad some of these youngsters are stepping up though and taking advantage of when Tiger is "off" (even though it looks like he will be second place)

Well played, Trevor. But this was for sure a boring masters...oh well.

Ya I didn't mind Trevor winning. It just didn't excite me at all. Too many short putts missed and impossible shots into greens where there only chance to make birdie is to hit a 65ft. putt. I agree that they should go to the traditional setup. It would be alot more exciting....

archeraz I think you described it perfectly.

Wire to Wire victories can be boring. He clearly was striking the ball very well, but in general I don't get comparing his ball striking to Hogan. I don't see what's so good about his swing vs. other professionals. This guy has won one other PGA Tour victory in 4 years and now he's the second coming of Hogan. Give me a break, he almost fell apart.

Exciting, Thrilling??? Maybe not...but it was nice to root for a guy that has not won a major and was hanging on the entire back nine. I watched all of his interviews and found him to be a likable sort and was able to turn that into enough motivation to root for him on Sunday. Agreed it was not a nail biter, especially after he opened up a six stroke lead. But it was still fun to root for a guy coming in, to not mess it up and get his first major.

Way to go Trevor, way to right the ship and get it done!!!!!

In fairness the Hogan Comparison came from Gary 'Superlative' Player who has a bit of a track record of everything being the best/most/fastest/fittest ever.

I found it very exciting, But then I have loved every Masters I have ever seen. Its my favorite week of the year hell I even played good today.

As for Immelman the first one is always the hardest.

1st in driving accuracy

1st in GIR's

4th in Driving distance

pretty good ball striking

I think a lot of people are disappointed because Tiger aint going to win the Slam he may not even win a Major this year?

Totally agree. Usually stay for the whole tournament but left after Friday this year. Course is just another U.S. Open wannabe at this point. Now you must drive accurately or you pay the price. Check the difference between Tiger and Trevor this week....

I see by the results that Tiger now only has 14 more second place finishes to tie Nicklaus in majors... But Jack most often finished second by a stroke. Thought Tiger had a much better understanding of his total game than he did in 2000. After this years U.S. Open Tiger will have to catch Jack in majors by winning British and PGAs unless they return Augusta to something close to just 4 years ago....

Bottom line BORING BORING BORING

I guess Gary Player forgot what Hogan's ball striking was like, but Trevor is no where near as pure a ball striker as Hogan--this week or ever. Another of Gary's exaggerations.

My feelings exactly about the course. I've alluded to my feelings on here before and it seems that criticising Augusta is tantamount to high treason.

The course is now too long, and several holes have been made too narrow and forced the players into hitting clubs for their approaches that the greens were never designed to receive. The fact that the greens are now quicker than in years past just exacerbates the problem.

Most of the holes need restoring to something like they were five years ago, and a lot of the trees that have been snuck in need to be removed in my opinion. Holes like #4 and #7 need to be drastically altered, and #11 is now a ridiculous hole.

I agree with sandy that the par obsession apperas to have crept into Augusta - notwithstanding Immelman's score this week.

It all makes for a very staid Masters and the prospect of a thrilling finish with a glut of birdies and eagles is a very slight one now as a result.

I'm glad I've got '86 on tape to watch over and over.

This years Masters has been my least favorite in recent memory to watch. Lacks a certain excitement for me....

Am I the only one feeling this way?

I thought the camera work was horrible by CBS. Anyone else agree?

Glad someone else noticed. Don't know what happened, other than Tiger played bad (relative to himself, came in Top 3?), Phil gacked, and there was no real story other than Immelman and Gary Player being South African.

What was with all the commercials? Didn't The Masters used to be , limited commercial interruption? And CBS cameramen? Lost balls in flight, showing guys with 'difficult' chip shots and the like, not even following the ball...

Maybe the Masters needs Johnny Miller - LOL.

Hope the rest of the majors, including the Players is better covered and more exciting....

...this is true Matt buddy but at least Gary got to see both of them hit balls in person. Who on this forum has watched the two of them as much?

I agree he's in a position to have seen them both first hand Ken, but I think most people in the game would take his comments with a lorryload of salt. Player's soundbites are always amusing. They never describe someone or something as 'very good' or 'excellent' but always as being 'the best of all time' or 'greatest ever.'

I think most people notice this and, even with Immelman's fine play this week, have applied the same pinch of salt this time round.

Player gave an interviewfor UK TV on Friday and, as usual afterwards, I didn't feel enlightened as I do after a Tom Watson or Nicklaus interview; but like I'd just had a telling off from my dad...
