I have a couple of wedges made for Mr. Faldo.

They're Vokey 54* and 60* with his grip, shaft band, but no N F stamp.

They're both 3/4" over standard length.

Hey guys I clicked on our friend The Gatchet's profile and was shocked to see his reputation score was a lowly 7! I really appreciate all he has put into his thread so how about clicking on some +1's for all of his great posts. Lets give some credit where credit is due!

Back to Nick, two things about his equipment make me sad when I think about them. The first was seeing him with that nike deal he signed, he was playing with some clubs that lets just say were not up to snuff with what he had in his bag in the earlier years. anyone who has seen the playing lessons he did know what i am talking about, he was gaming that first nike driver they came out with (with the blueish crown), and some of the original nike pro combos. The second thing to me was seeing him playing with ping cavity backs, it just never looked right to me for such a fine striker of the ball to be playing with anything other than blades. even price had a set of blades made up when he was with goldwin!

I believe they are either MP-29s or TN-87s without the stamping.
What is a TN 87? How do they differ from MP 29's?
I'm sure there's more info in other threads, but I recall that the TN stands for Tommy Nakajima, and that this was a design of his during that time-frame.

I just found a pristine set of TP-19 heads on Ebay recently, almost new. I've been looking for a set for ages, now on my second set of MS203's. The 19s are just a beautiful iron.

There was very little difference between the MP 29s and the TN 87s and yes, the TN did stand for Tommy Nakajima. I believe 87 was for the first production year (or the number of strokes he needed to escape the Road Hole Bunker). There were subsequent models in 91 and 92. Back to the difference between the 29s and the 87s; very little. The head design was almost identical. Essential difference being invisible, a layer of copper beneath the chrome finish on the TN-87 irons. Most will claim the copper provided a softer feel. I did not consider the difference significant and sold the more coveted 87s. I still have the 29s as well as a couple of sets of TP-19s. One of which I use regularly.

Nice post again mate. Super squidgy Rextar pros - I recall the big debacle when Nick got the wrong compression balls in a tourney once and suffered bad scoring as a consequence. One of the majors or maybe the World Matchplay perhaps...
Anyways, he got issued the 40's or 60's by mistake. Wouldn't want to be Fanny that day....

Found it! 1995 Players Championship. Nick shot a first round 80 which went some way to him missing the cut. A second round 73 was pretty good under the circumstances as the cut line finished at +6 that week.

The Pings just seem wrong after a career of finessing the finest blades - they are like Elvis in a dodgy film compared to the 68 comeback.....
The iron play of Faldo was up there with the very best.
Interesting people still refer to his lack of length despite winning majors on the longest courses.
This thread has me chasing some TP's despite the fact I traded my MP68's for JPX 800 pros.
Damn these shiny clubs!!
