MACHINE Putters Picture Thread

Hey Everyone!

I wanted to take a minute to give a big heartfelt "thank you!" to everyone who has taken the time to visit and view our putters here, to all of you that have posted all the great comments, and also for those of you who have trusted in us to add a MACHINE or two (or more) to your bags and collections! We just passed 200,000 views for this thread, but it really feels to me like we are just getting started!

We have some exciting developments happening here at Dogleg, including adding our own brand new Haas CNC milling equipment in-house, and hiring Mike Pelto, who has been programming and milling our parts at our lead mill shop for the past eight years. Now that Mike and the equipment are here in-house, we will be providing much better service and faster turnarounds on all custom work that used to get backlogged over at the old mill shop. They did great work, but had to juggle our business and other aerospace and defense industry work that made up most of their revenues. Mike brings 30 years of machining and programming experience, and is incredibly talented and extremely patient putting up with my whacky ideas, kooky CAD drawings and overall OCD nature. This also means that we can focus even more on quality, and also on completing the new designs and innovations that have been backlogged forever it seems at the old shop. It feels like a start-up all over again (even though we're close to celebrating 18 years here at DLR). Crazy! But a really good crazy!

I also want to give special thanks to the rest of our team in the office and shop, at the old Studio and out on Tour. It has been a true team effort, and we know we are blessed to be growing in this difficult economy. I want to give a special shout out to Chris Hoeppner for all his hard work, enthusiasm and dedication, which hasn't always been easy when he's been stationed in the worst war zones, keeping us all free and safe, while posting and responding to emails and PM's in the wee hours between missions (earning a purple heart, bronze star and huge debt of gratitude from me and others in the process). A special thanks also to the team at Golfwrx for providing such a great home for this thread and all the others!

Now to some quick updates: All MGC Members items will be shipping over the next week as they come off the new CNC mills, and I'm adding even more items as a thank you for everyone's patience.

The last of the 4.0 orders are being completed over the next week, and then we'll be showing off sneak peeks of our 5.0 Release for 2012, starting with some special Limited Editions, new Prototypes, more ART and Garage putters. I'm really excited about all the new stuff, and very eager to show them off here and hear what you all think.

Thanks again for everyone's support, encouragement and kind comments. It all inspires and motivates us more than you can imagine, and allows us to chase our dreams, being a part of this great game.

Thanks for continuing to improve upon your already fantastic designs! The quality of a Machine putter from the order process to the delivery is top notch. The only improvement is the length of the build time. It appears you guys have invested heavily into this aspect. I can't wait to see what comes down the pipe over the next few years. Thanks for building/designing my amazing putter.

This is a 303 Stainless M2A Converter that has been finished in a special Dark Antique Charcoal Torch Finish by Dave :)

Hope everyone is having a great weekend :) Wanted to share a teaser pic for you of a Lmited Run we are doing of Right Handed 1018 Carbon Heavy Fat Back Flanges :) Been having a lot of requests for these :)

 

These flanges weigh 106 Grams Each and give you a flush cavity :) They can be finished in Hot Salts Gun Metal Blue, Copper Plate or Nickel Plate :)

Hey Guys,

 

Here are some Photos of our new headcovers for 2012. These will be in shortly and start shipping by approx. 11-01-11. There are 50 pcs of Limited Edition “Custom” white covers, in addition to the traditional blue covers.

 

The magnet closure system has been improved on these, as has the fur. The magnets are longer, run the full length of the opening and are encased in a stronger fabric. The fur is a tighter knit that should stay neater longer :)

 

The third photo shows the difference between the old cover on the right and the new covers on the left :)

Just wanted to add my two cents to this thread. I have obtained a Machine Garage putter and needed a little help. I live close to the Plano headquarters and met with Dave Billings and we discussed what I was looking to do. What a class guy he is. Showed me around the shop and I was like a kid in a candy store. I have owned tour Bettinardis, Circle Ts and other high end putters. They may be as good but those putters or not better than what Machine is putting out now. Saying that, I had no idea what some of these putters are going for like the Damascus. But that is one good looking putter. Again, wanted to say thank you Dave for all you did for me on my visit.

Quick question, that is the weight with that centre shaft head and is that 2 rear flanges (looks like a super fat and a tongue)?

I'll have to check on the weight on the one right above. That's actually a custom width stainless spacer with a stainless tongue back. She's a heavy putter for sure. LOL

That one was ordered with a head weight of about 485 grams Heavy Putter. LOL
