Titleist lineup for '06

Got this on another board. The 695's look very nice but are they more difficult to hit than the 735's? The 695's seem bigger.

I bet they sell a lot of the 695.CBs for the wrong reason. People will be hitting them farther with those +2* jacked lofts when they demo them and think, "hmmm....flight is low but the ball goes so far.....I'll take them." :D

905R is NOT a replacement for the S or T. The R is actually a hybrid of each club, really not haveing any specific individulal characteristics, except for the 460 cc's. The T, S, and R will stay in the Titleist Lineup until Titleist designs another line of drivers.

I know. I've heard this a lot as well and decided to take action. I'm very glad that titleist didn't drop the club because it's beautifuly designed no matter what anyone says.

yea I like that Titleist acknowledges the fact that a driver doesnt have to push the max size to make a great hitting club. Their 06 line has something for every kind of golfer, even those who dont like to look at a monstrosity of a clubhead at adress!

34* 7-iron goes ~½ club farther than a 36* 7-iron. :D

I have a set of Titleist 670's and I had the lofts bent 2* strong because I hit them really short and I didn't have any problem hitting them afterwards.

Noticed they offer NS Pro 100's. Are these the Nippon 1150 Pro's that I've heard about?

the strong a** lofts are gonna give you a flatter trajectory, so if you want to play a CB and you really hit DOWN on the ball you wont balloon it as much, i think they should be 21* and so on from the 3I, 20* is kinda strong, but to each his own

It says Custom Order Only next to the 660s. They haven't released the specs on them yet.

MMMMM those 695.CB's are very appealing. I need a low hitting iron because I get the ball up way too much as it is. I have not tried bending the lofts yet but I am about to switch to new graphite iron shafts so I will try that before I look into buying the 695's. They are so much nicer looking in the short irons vs. 690.CB's!

I got to hit these all yesterday...

 

I think the strong lofts on the CBs are a mistake. Hitting the 3 iron felt like hitting a 2 iron. They should have put some weight higher in the cavity instead. I couldn't tell distance (in a dome), but I would think the stronger loft would mean 1/2 club longer, which is weird for a 'player's club'. They look VERY silimar to the 690•CB, just a slightly different heel to toe look. Size and general shape seem the same. I've played the 690•CB for 2+ years, and don't think I'd see any benefit (other than 1/2 club longer, IF that's a 'benefit' - ?)

 

The 695•MB IMO are going to be huge. I think they're an improvement on the 690•MB in most ways. The long irons felt especially solid, and the short irons look better at address. I thought this was the winner by far. Might order a set with Project X soon.

 

The 660s were nice, but I didn't notice anything special about them. They do look a little different than the 670 and 680, so if those didn't appeal to you... Look excellent in the bag, though.
