has anyone been fitted at the taylor made performance lab....?

 

they have one here in chicago......if anyone has experiences id love to hear about them both positive and negative.......also, is it better get fitted at a place like hotstix rather than at an OEM lab where you're locked into one brand.....?

If you are talking about the MATT center then its amazing. if you have ever seen how they go the motion tech stuff from EA Games its the same thing. They attach all these little balls to you, and when you swing it measures every thing about your swing. they even give you a 360 view of your swing to keep.

 

They also measure everything the ball is doing from the moment it leaves the club face, even putters. The putter is amazing because it measures your full putting stroke to knwo fi you sway at all and also it measures how much skid you have with your current putter and then how much with one of theres, also gets the perfect loft and lie for you. Its the best Fitting center I have been to, becasue it measures everything. I'm from Canada so it might be different in the states but thats what it was like here when i went for school. It trumps the Ping fitting based on the computer tech stuff involved.

 

I don't know anyone who has had a bad experience, I think we sent about 10 of our members there last summer and at 200 bucks a pop they really enjoyed it. Taylor Made also sent us all the members stats, I mean they want the person to buy from them obviously but they give you the specs to everything incase the person wants to explore another brand.

I went through the one in Carlsbad. the BEST experience ever. Got the whole works from driver to putter(had one of kind KIA MA putter made for me). They treat you like a tour player. My name was on their flat screen TV welcoming me and had lunched delivered. I was awsome. Yes they put little ball on you but its on a vest and straps for joints. If anyone has the opportunity to do it it is a must.

You could drive to Reynolds Plantation a little outside Atlanta. They have a TM Performance Lab there.

jz...The performance Lab at Olympia Fields Country Club is incredible. More importantly, the individual(Brad Syslo) is an excellent technician. Moreover, he is an excellent golf professional and is very capable of refining/defining swing issues while progressing through the fitting process. I am a golf professional in the Chicago area and have accompanied several of my students during their fitting. Each time I, and my student, learn something about the student and areas where I/we can further their progress as a result of the information Brad Syslo is capable of supplying. At first the price sounds somewhat pricey...but the experience and value far in exceeds the price.

thanx for the insight. if you as a pga professional are endorsing the lab, it must be legit.....i was a little weary of having all taylor made equipment but it sounds like its a too good of an opportunity to pass up.....i think ill go get fit after the holidays.....

Yes...The Olympia Fields TM Performance Lab is open to the public. Brad Syslo(The Fitting Technician) may be contacted at 630.776.6520(Cell) or at the Performance Center at 708.679.6700. To answer JZ...Yes I am a PGA Professional. However, I am not on the Taylor Made staff. I have had the opportunity to go through the fitting systems you mentioned previously, but found that the Taylor Made system is far superior from a fitting and instructional standpoint. If I can add one important benefit you should take advantage of if you do schedule an appointment, try to coincide the appointment with your instructor(if you have one). You and your instructor will gain valuable information and determine areas to augment your progress. Moreover, everything is put on CD so you will have the capability to review your session and make the suggested swing/setup improvements on your own.
