Mitsu Whiteboard vs. Fubuki?

Tried both, having trouble deciding.....help!
Hi everyone,
I was able to test both the WB and Fubuki shaft this weekend and both were great. I have been looking at getting my 1st Gen. PING Rapture re-shafted this winter. I currently have the Proto shaft on it and it gets too much hang time for me. Looking for something a little lower trajectory that feels a little more stable. I hit both shafts in X flex as my SS is 119mph. The WB (73) felt awesome with a lower flight, but the Fubuki allowed me to have a slightly higher flight with about the same distance. It had a really smooth feel to it, the WB had a little harsher feeling at impact.

Any thoughts from you all? I would like to make the switch, but I want to make the right investment. Your input is appreciated.

Thanks.

I have had the chance to hit both the Fubuki 73 X and Whiteboard 73 X outside and there was a huge difference for me. My swing speed is b/w 115-120. I do like the feel of a shaft with a lower kickpoint, the fubuki(at least in a Tour Burner LCG) felt like a regular flex shaft and it launched way too high for me and with way too much spin. The whiteboard has always felt great too me and given me great launch and spin. Never balloned on me and ran out a lot. The whiteboard had a lot tighter dispersion and it was easier to control my ballflight. So in my opinion the whiteboard is a much better shaft.(I think a Fubuki that is tipped more could be just the thing as well but it is something I have not tried)

What were your spin numbers? What was your launch angle with each?

The tour burner lcg w/Fubuki 73 X gave me 14.1 launch with 3450 rpm's of backspin. I had a retail burner 07 tp with a whiteboard 73 x with 13.3 launch and 2,400 rpms of backspin

A great shaft that is low launch and very low spin is the Graphite Design Tour AD Throttle. I highly recommend giving it a rip over both the Whiteboard and the Fubuki. It has equally good performance at a much lower cost.

Very stable, very low spin and very consistent...

Just a recommendation...do with it what you will.....

I said it was a retail so therefore it would be like a V2

Nope, there are retail V1's.

Indeed, about 1 club in hundreds and i'd guess and likely all gone now.

I am suprised the LCG spun so much. It sounds too like the Fubuki was playing soft, maybe it was put in with the usual 1/2 tipping to make up for the TM BBTG measurement? Both would have been the same loft?

Not a fair comparison, the tour burner spins more than the 07TP(does for me anyway...) and you don't mention if its a V1 07 TP or a V2....

He's talking about the LCG Burner.

It wasnt a V1 head. Yes both heads were the same loft and I was just as suprised as you

I am very surprised with your results. I am thinking the feel difference of the two shafts may have had some effect on how you were coming into impact. The reason I say that is, I have had 3 players go WhiteBoard vs. Fubuki head-to-head, with 3 very different swings, and 3 different ballspeed ranges. All 3 had spin +/- 150 RPM's of each other.

The question i have for you is where do you play? Whats the climate like and how does the course usually play? If its cold and wet usually, Fubuki, get as much carry as you can... If its hot and dry then maybe the whiteboard, get more roll out of it... Also you seem to be focusing alot on feel, if your not seeing that big a difference in the two but felt the Fubuki performed better then Fubuki could be the one...

From how youve described it is how i and others have found both shafts, some have prefered the whiteboard and others the Fubuki... Its been the slightly harder swingers who have liked the Whiteboard aswell...

Thanks for your input projamie....I do live in a dry climate that has pretty firm and fast fairways, so I was kind of thinking the same thing - more roll rather than carry. I really am a "feel" kind of player and the WB felt soooo stable through impact. I might go try them out one more time. Thanks again!

Yea I have heard about same spin. What were the differences in launch? 1*, 2*?

VERY surprised as well lcg should be laughably lower spin than a retail 07 TP. Was it the same monitor and same day? They get wacky you know... The golfsmith in NYC CLEARLY jacked up the swing speed and ballspeed settings on their monitor, whereas the one on rt46 in wayne was true for anyone in NY area.
