TM Tour Burner TP

Anyone else slice this club?

Picked up a Tour Burner TP after getting rid of my Titleist 905R. Up here in the Toronto area I was outside hitting balls for the first time this year. However it was slice after slice. Unlike with my 905R which was consistenly straight. I am thinking I might have to drop this an pick up a 909.

I just cannot hit this club. Does anyone else have this problem?

Nope. But you should realize that the TM TB TP is 1 or 2 degrees open and the 905R is square at best if not closed.

I had the same problem also. I think one of my reasons was becuase i play a 44" driver shaft (I think thats what it is...its shorter than normal), and when i swing a 45" driver, i have to adjust. But i did find the face rather open. 909 is a solid club though, its worth a shot! Trial and Error i guess

 

P.S I am in Detroit...i understand your weather situation for hitting golf balls outside :russian_roulette:

Ditto....same problem...loved the feel but I could not keep it in play...best shot was a 20 yard fade and most of them became "power" fades of about 30 yards or worse!!! I went with the non-TP head that was close to square as possible. A 10.5* matched with a F7M2 has been a bomber for me (low spin) but I would like a slightly lower ball flight for the wind that I normally play in...perhaps it won't be an issue with this set up.....really like the feel and the way this head looks!

 

Right now I am looking for a 10* tour issue head that sits square...thought I found one but was sold before I could get it. IF anyone has one and is willing to part with it for a fair price I am interested.

Yep! Couldn't hit mine when I first got it and was spraying it all over the place. I think the longer shaft put a spanner in the works and throws your setup and timing out of whack! My suggestion would be to shorten your backswing a bit and choke down a inch on grip until you build confidence with it. Then go for a normal grip and let it rip! You'll come to terms with it but don't expect to ever be quite as accurate as you were before. I know I'm not but I can hit it plenty long! I hit it past my friend who uses a 905R by 20-30y. We use to be the same length with my old driver.

I sold mine because I drew it a little too much, and hit it too high. Had an XCON-7 X in it. Good shaft, bad head. 09 Burner TP is much better IMO.

45.5" (stock length) - 3/4" = 44.75" lol. He's 100% correct.

 

 

 

I don't slice mine one bit and have had no real trouble with the right side playing at 45 inches with a F7M2.

Haha yeah stock length is 45.5" not 45". But in all honesty I can tell the difference between a 42.75" 3 wood and a 43" 3 wood. The 42.75" 3 wood is so easier to hit solid. I love mine.

LMAO... I had the same problem. I knocking down trees and limbs on the left side of the fairway. I was actually baffled. I put it up on Ebay and it didnt sell over 6 days. I have an L4V X and its 1* open and I hit it straight to slight fade or draw.

 

I pull the shaft out of the TP and put in a AXIV Core Black and it started behaving a lot better. When I swing properly I hit really good draws with it. It is definitely long with plenty of roll.

 

Because of the accuracy issue it is not a starter yet, but we working on it.

If you went to Launch then that could be your problem. I can't hit a straight ball there to save my life and my normal flight is a slight draw.

Clubs don't slice shots, the person holding it does.

I bought it w/ a reg-flex Re-ax shaft and chopped 3/8" from it.

I found the TP to be a lot more accurate than the regular Tour Burner. Got the TP with the Whiteboard shaft and love it

I cut mine down to 45" and made it D2 weight. this head is great for working the ball. If your slicing then just release your club before impact and you will square up the face and start drawing the ball. try this before you dump this great club.

Used to have a similar problem with my 09 Tour Burner (non tp) with the stock RE-AX S shaft. Recently switched to the UST v2 66g S and this combo is sooo solid. Big difference in dispersion.
