Aldila shafts have always been one of my favourites. They are not exorbitantly priced like some of the other offerings, but generally perform just as well. (for me)

 

In fact, the best driver I ever owned (why did I sell it again??) had an Aldila NV. I'd love a chance to throw the BooDoo in my current gamer and give it a go.

I would love to have this shaft not in my gamer, but in my course's superintendent gamer. He is a scratch golfer, who loves to hunt, he even goes hunting during those heavy frost delays, up in his tree stand off the 8th green. This shaft would fit him well!!!!

I would love to have one of those shafts because I was so close to meeting Boo last year at the Open Championship but passed up the opportunity without even knowing it.

 

Here is the story to go along…

 

My friends and I studied abroad in Oxford last summer and decided to attend the 3^rd round of the Open Championship at Royal Birkdale. Being poor college students and dedicated golf fans, we took a train from Oxford to Royal Birkdale on Friday night and planned on spending the night at the train station. When we arrived at Hillside Station (the station next to the golf course), we soon realized that the station closed at midnight and security would not allow anyone to sleep in the station. My three friends and I began walking down the street adjacent to the golf course trying to figure out what to do. Two of my friends decided they would begin knocking on house doors to ask if they could spend the night. My other friend and I called them crazy so we split up for the night and agreed on a meeting point for the next morning. We ended up sleeping under a bus stop in the cold, rainy, windy weather while my two other friends ended up spending the night at the house Boo Weekley was renting for the week. They told my friend and me all about it the next morning. Boo's house was one of the only houses in the area that was still lit around midnight on Friday night. They rang the doorbell and one of Boo's relatives answered the door. My two friends, being from South Georgia, carry a thick southern accent so his relative allowed them to come right in. Once they entered the house, they soon realized it was the house that Boo Weekley was staying at. Boo was up so late because he missed the cut by a few shots and was hanging out before he headed back to the United States. Boo showed my friends his golf bag and talked to them about life on the tour. My friends were offered a couch to sleep on while I was stuck sleeping on the sidewalk for the night. It was an opportunity of a lifetime that I missed out on.

 

I have attached a picture of my two friends with Boo to prove that the story is true.

I would love to add this to my Driver. THe Voodoo shaft is one of the best feeling shafts I have ever hit and with the Custom Boo Weekly graphics, it's just insane! I can finally start hitting more fairways and bring my handicap down to scratch!

 

If I win, I will shamelessly promote GolfWRX to anyone who will listen (and even those who won't) when people inevitably ask me where I got such a stellar shaft. I will also vow to not buy another driver for at least 12 months which would make my wife VERY happy . . .

Ok, to show why I would be a perfect match for one of these shafts, I need to set the stage.

 

First - I'm build similarly to Boo probably a little shorter at 5' 10" and weight about 220. Plus I'm old enough to be his father.

 

Second I currently play a Titleist Voodoo pull in stiff flex, in my driver.

 

Next I play wearing oxygen (yes while I swing the club) its a small unit that holds less than a pound of liquid oxygen that I wear on a hip belt in back (like a fanny pack).

 

Already at times after a good drive my playing partners will joke about what's in my tank - are sure its just oxygen etc.

 

Now for the real kicker after a really good drive (like over the trees within fifty yards on a hole on a course I play frequently) I throw my leg over my driver like Boo did at the Ryder Cup and proceed off the tee box and down the fairway. I'd have them rolling in club house as my playing partners described the sight.

 

Go BooBoo with the VooDoo
