looking for great face balanced putter.. suggestions?

right now i have my eye on a yes tracy and a BG fat lady swings...

I thought about getting a tracy, but decided on a Scotty Cameron Catalina. About the same putter, but I prefer the look of the Catalina.

I'd consider the Guerin Rife Mr Beasley GR6. The roll is off the charts.

Right now on ebay you can pick up these MacGregor Bobby Grace MOI GT putters for pretty darned cheap. These are full face balanced, easy to align, and if these types of putter fit your style, they can be lights out. I have a couple in my normal putter rotation, one putts smarts off and in the corner it goes and another sitting on the bench gets some game time. :)

check out the nike oz T130. I tried it out today and i actually liked it. I just wish it was slightly heavier, but it was so easy to putt.

The new Fat Lady is nice.

 

I didn't care for the GR Mr. Beasely - despite its weight, it felt light and not as solid as the Fat Lady or the Havana below.

 

If you prefer a mallet with great roll and like the feel of handmilled carbon steel and 356g head, then the Big Oak Havana is one to try - and I think Dave gives you some time to try it before he charges your card. Give him a call.

 

I've relegated my other putters to the closet and have only been playing the Havana.

i almost got a used G2 craze.. it was 33" with a winn grip.. felt great.. it did have the h hosel... which was nice.. i like the offset look.

 

i didn't thin the redx putter were face balanced.. they both have 1/4 toe hang.. which i have with my scotty.

TM Corza may be a good choice if you have already tried that one.

lol.. i have never used a nike putter..

 

think i am going back to the corza.. 35" heel shaft. i had a 34" center shaft that just didn't feel right..

 

messed around with a corza last night and liked it better than most others..

I found it at and Martin's PGA store while on Vacation in Myrtle Beach 2 weeks ago. It easily kicked my Yes Callie out of the back by far the best putter I've ever rolled with. I had to come to the realization that i have a straight back straight through stroke and not a arc stroke which made a HUGE difference.

Ya know, I never understood that face balanced verus toe hang dependent on your stroke thing - maybe for SBST guys, you need a face balance.

 

I am a slight arc guy and use the Putting Arc - I can putt with face balanced or toe hang putters - right now, I'm using the face balanced Big Oak Havana.

 

The TM putter guys were on BSG a month or so ago - they said that they fit arc guys into face balanced putters sometimes to help them close - didn't make sense to me - but whatever works.

 

I love the looks of the Mr. Beasley (except for that line on the topline -wassupwitdat?) - but was very disappointed in the execution - expecially compared to the Havana. Really wanted to add it to the barn. It just did not feel solid or have the heft of 355g to me - it did roll well.

 

Oh well, different strokes.

There are lots of good putters this year, I wonder which of the newest ones will become popular with us. My son picked this one up last summer off the tour, it looks to be oilcan and you'd think it to be carbon steel, but it's nickel and I believe acid etched to look like oilcan, none the less a very kool putter and rolls excellent too.

If I had to pick a retail putter, the Monza Corza would probably be it - very nice and with the weights, even weightier. If it wasn't for the industrial look, I might have given it a serious try.

 

The AGSI seems to be the real deal - so have fun rolling it.
