Miura CB-501 Forged Irons

Are the CB-501 more forgiving than MC-102 or more dificult to hit with them?

I don't have the specs yet. But I am assuming they won't be too far off from the current CB-202. These will be standard weights but you can probably order them heavier through your local Miura dealer.

Is it just me, or does it look exactly like the CB-1003 model that MiuraGiken made back in 1996?

And, just as an editorial note, this is not a knock on Miura. This is an incredibly challenging economy to go through the process and cost of developing the dies for a completely new design. I think it's perfectly reasonable for a company of their caliber to "re-introduce" a successful design of the past.

I only wish Mizuno would take the old MS-203 / TP-19 and make an updated combo set, maybe with an updated version of the MP GRAD style cavity....but I'm not holding my breath on that one!

Where does this iron fall in the Miura line?

I played a mix set of 101s and 201s for sometime and liked them. Considering another mix set and wonder if the new 501 would come into play - Thanks

Received my set last weekend and here are my first impressions:

1) It has slightly more offset than the CB-202, but the general feel of the club is exactly the same as the CB-202. Great Miura feel.
2) The thicker muscle back gives off the impression of being more forgiving, but not the case. As matter of fact, the clubhead is actually slightly smaller than that of the CB-202.
3) Overall, it's not a significant difference compared to the CB-202; if you like your CB-202's, no need to try these out. If you don't own a set of Miuras and but like the look of these, then go for it.
