Scottsdale Golf Deal

Heading down to play some golf in the sun the First week in March with a 4 some.

Man it is hard narrowing down the One or Two Rounds we want to splurge on.

The question I have is...

The Boulders is running a special for 2 rounds for 275 a pop. That should get us down to 150 a round which is what we would prefer to stay at..

For a nicer course like this, Is this going to be about the best deal we will find.

What are the Odds of finding Tee Times for The Boulders, Troon North, Gold Canyon for this price on Golf Now once we are down there?

Do you Think If we Called We Ko Pa and asked to price match the boulders offer they would accept?

I getting pretty pumped for the trip it will be the first time to Arizona. And I have been putting in many hours of Research to get an idea of the places to play. Thanks to all of you with the nice course reviews =)

I played Gold Canyon the Dinosaur course and really loved it, the course was awesome as was the staff. If you know when you are going I would recommend a tee time though just to make sure. I really liked all the elevation changes it was such a dramatic difference from what I play it was a real joy. I know a bunch of people from Tempe and asked what courses I needed to play and Gold Canyon kept coming up as one of the best to play.

If you sign up for Grayhawks email club you will get weekly emails and the rates have been right around 99$ that time of year. Troon should be around 130 on golfnow, Wekopa wont be real flexible on their prices, but its worth every penny, easily one of the best courses in the state. Gold Canyon should also be around 100$ on golfnow for the Dinosaur course.

Edit: You should be able to get 36 holes in at wekopa and take advantage of the replay rate and that will bring the cost per round way down.

Thanks One Putt, I has hoping you would chime in on this one. :D

I did sign up for the Email letters to a town of places.

Now that I got a idea of the Prices from Golf Now that time of year , It gives a better idea.

We Ko Pa's posted Rates look crazy spendy but I drool whenever I check out the pics of it.

I did See that Copper Canyon has an all day play for $69 , I think We are gonna play that for sure.

I live in Phoenix have played both Dinosaur and Sidewinder at Gold Canyon and love them both. Dinosaur is a little more expensive as it is played more in the moutain and has more elevation change but I think it is worth it. The views are amazing from some of the higher tee boxes. Pro shop is small and tight from what I remember but that is not the reason you are there and as one other poster said, take plenty of golf balls. Also, becareful turning over rocks if you off the fairway, there are critters to watch for!

The we-ko-pass is great, but you can only make tee times 4 days out (i'm about 90% sure). I've had one for a few years and it is VERY tough to get a decent tee time over there during the peak season (especially for a foursome..)

Check out www.troongolf.com under golf offers, sometimes they have couipons to play troon north for under $150....
The TPC at Scottsdale Champions Course is nice but I dunno what they get for rates. I played down there last year and payed 125. But if I had to bet on it, it has prolly gone up. Wekopa is an awesome course, man theres so much golf in arizona its awesome
$44 to walk resident or non resident. Best unknown deal in town. $128ish if you take a cart. I never could figure that one out maybe thats why its an unadvertised price. My new home course for the winter, its tough to get good tee times on weekends unless you book as soon as they allow.
Ya we didnt want to walk but I want to try it. I assume any resident card will work even if im in tucson. I like the stadium corse but they want so much and the champions course is no slouch
No resident card needed for that promo, it does not apply to the stadium course though only the champions course. Its an easy walk only 1 hole has a long walk from green to the next tee.

I went ahead and made a tee time for WeKoPa- Saguaro

I don't think you will be disappointed.

To round out your trip (assuming you don't mind driving a little) with some excellent golf at good value, check out the Raven @ Verrado. A thoughtful John Fought/Tom Lehman layout that does have the real estate component and cartball routing, however, wide playing corridors and the housing is not intrusive. Seems to be going for <$100, sometimes they offer weekday deals that include breakfast or lunch.

Please don't bother with Copper Canyon...its in BFE and just not worth it. It will be a waste of time if you are truly looking for top golf.

Thanks all for the insider info about TPC Champions Course walking fee. $49 is the current rate. I have two rounds booked in Feb and I cannot wait. Here in Portland right now the monotony of playing wet is getting really, really (yes I mean really) old. After every round I track mud into my car and I feel as if moss has grown on my head. I can't wait to pick the ball off those well groomed fairways down there, whilst in shorts on top of it all. W00T!

You should verify on their website but IIRC I believe it is up to 90 days for bookings and yes that should include walking rate (which isn't published anywhere whatsoever).
