Question re: Short Course at Grand National...

Anyone have insight on the "Short Course" at Grand National? We are thinking of fitting it in on the day we don't play 36 holes on the big courses....Figure we could get a few money games going etc.

Anyone ever play it? Is it worth it?

It's just fantastic! We played it every afternoon after playing 18 in the morning. Play it twice from different tees. The back tees are a load. Well worth the time and you'll have a blast.

you should try winner picks the tee box on the next hole. if you don't mix up the tees it can get pretty old ripping 3,4,5 iron all day. the rtj short courses are all great though.

Cool, thanks for the responses....sounds like fun. We're playing The Judge at Capitol Hill in the Am and coming back to the Links that night for the next day...this fits perfectly in our plans.

I've been to the Trail 4 times now, you'll have a blast. It's been about 10 years since I've played the short course, but the recommendation about the winner picking the tees is a cool way to make it interesting.

Enjoy the trail, great courses, people, and a heck of a deal.

Canadian guy here that has played the trail 5 times ..... and with equal level golfers the short courses are the best !!! GN par 3 course is super fantastic

The 9 short holes at one of the Northern tracks has a tee that plays it at 270 and there is a waterfall greenside

This will be the second time back, loved the golf courses and may have found our new Myrtle Beach.

I live in Alabama---in between Birmingham and Huntsville...and have played them all and I can say you are correct on the short Course @ GN... I like the idea of having the winner pick the next tee...what we do is put the Tees on a rotation...start on back and come forward then back again in unison...It makes it more fun and you will LITERALLY hit every club in your bag... Great fun RTJ is something we are pround of...
