Mr. Martin -

I have been teetering on the fence about purchasing your product now for about a month...THEN I found this thread, now I am sold. My number one priority in my game right now is to find some consistency in my ball striking. I have a club speed in the range of about 92-95MPH and I am a 22 HDCP - I was originally looking at the 8 Iron, however after going through this thread I see you recommend the Pro model to most people. Do you think the Pro would fit me as well?

I would also like to take advantage of the 3 payment option from the infomercial, however I do not see that as an option on the website for ordering. Can you point me in the right direction to take advantage of that payment plan? Thanks!

one thing that would concern me when training with the club, would be an ability to possibly trick the results. for example, i simply start moving the ball back a little and getting myself ahead of it like i'm hitting a knockdown, and i make the club work... but it won't translate to a normal swing. i'm assuming the training aid could be abused in its purpose if we're not disciplined about a proper setup etc.... agree? any thoughts on that or do you feel just swing it and it will work itself out and the results will speak for themselves?

It's possible to trick a number of training aids. You don't need a TS to come upon what you are talking about. I did it last year on the range with my 9i. If I moved the ball far enough back I started to really hit it solid. The problem is it's a lower shot that won't hold a green. So you are correct in that you need a little discipline. The TS is just a feedback device. It is up to the user of the club to pay attention to what is happening. There is nothing in life that I know of that you can just put/use on auto-pilot and be garunteed(sp?) to have a positive outcome 100% of the time. I agree with what you said but I hold the user responsible, not the club, for the actual results achieved.

Mr Martin

I am based in South Africa, were everything happens at least 12 months after the rest of the world, so when I came across your product it seemed like another money making tool for the industry. Then I came across these postings and described the product to many golfing professionals (teaching) and my beliefs are starting to change. Many of the pro's that have been teaching for over 20 years have always said that teaching an amature to hit the golf ball with a "negative logical thought" is extremely difficult.

It seems that logics have played in your favour with this product line.

Now you only need to get the product to a local South African Distributor, and you would see that South Africa has a market place that would surprise you.

I am placing an order shortly for a few models for friends and Pro's

Totally agree. In the accompanying DVD, I try to impress a left of center ball position. Personally, I play the ball in the same spot and only modify my right foot position.

The marketing guys were selling the "HIT DOWN" thoughts. I'm selling the forward lean with minimal downward strike; 4* isn't much and works like a charm.

We just signed up a distributor in SA. It will be about 60 days before they are outfitted with units, but that is exciting. If you wait, you can save the shipping dollars. If you are a retailer, send me a note to [email protected] and I'll put you in touch with the distributor and you can save some dough there too.

I'm absolutely shocked and blessed how this thing has taken off. It works, but it is not pixie dust. People still have to go out and work at the darn thing. I thought I'd sell some and make a few bucks, but I'm rather shocked. We just signed up distributors around the world. The guy in Japan has already sold as many units as we've sold in the US!

Martin, Just wondering if you think your new Accelerator device is good for learning the feel of the “stable release” described in this video?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=53DaCUuj1Bo&feature=player_embedded

Also, have you seen this training device and if so how do you think it compares to yours?

I’ve been using my TourStriker wedge with good results but have a tendency to open the face when I get the hands forward. I think working on Supination/bowing /ulnar deviation would help with that.

Thanks

interesting. and the irony is i've been told I shouldnt allow myself to bow like that at the top by instructors because it's not "right". i look like DJ at the top and instructors always try to change it. i guess it's a good thing. who knew! jk

Josh is a fine teacher, the phrase he uses is something he likely made up, but it does describe how some players use their hands in the swing. The Accelerator, especially the "under over drill" really gives the feeling of his "stable" release. The best thing about the Accelerator is that you can put it in a variety of positions to get your desired feels. I'm shooting the Accelerator Drills DVD on March 8th in Palm Desert and I'll touch on what Josh said as it does pertain to some of the ways you can use the tool.

Kevin's gizmo has merit, but looks nothing like mine. Like he says, it is over-exaggerating hand motions, but that is a good thing if you are on the polar opposite of decent impact alignments. I'm curious, what does he sell that device for? How does it compare to mine? Well, with my tool, you actually use it with your own clubs, putter to driver. The Accelerator doesn't provide auditory feedback like his, just feel and some visuals on the short stuff.

This was suggested to me in a different post. Sounds like most like it so far. May try it.
At some point, every good player flattens their left wrist and establish their impact alignments. Some do it early in the backswing, while others do it on the down swing.

Dustin Johnson, Graeme McDowell have clearly bowed wrist at the top. Hogan had a cupped wrist at the top. Hogan figured it out on the way down, likely how the fellow in the video is suggesting. I'm a huge Hogan fan and my walls would prove it, but I'm no expert on the man and I haven't watched thousands of hours of him swinging the club, so I can't say for certain.

The only thing I can say for certain, is that at some point prior to impact (my preference is to assemble impact alignments prior to transition with most students) you have to find the alignments. Vague? Yes, because there is a million ways to do it and I think my new gizmo, The Accelerator, will help people figure it out like the TS has helped people.

anybody ever tried the swingyde, the pure ball striker, tour striker pro x 7 iron, AND the v-harness????? seems like it would be overkill, but would give you a perfect golf swing

I'm not sure about the V-Harness, just looks like something from Tin Cup :busted2: I also have the weirdest feeling in my life at the top of my backswing, my left elbow (I'm a lefty) is connected to my armpits, is that supposed to do that? Or should it be a little disconnected?
