advise

Hi guys,

I have been currently using the Bridgestone Airmuscle #19 for a while and am looking to upgrage to a new 2-iron 18-19deg head. I really dont like hybrids at all so if you could sugest a high end replacement that would be great. I have had a look around at a couple of brands like Fourteen and PRGR.

Are you looking more at a driving iron-styled hybrid or just any high-end hybrid in general? The ones you just named are some of the better driving irons out there. I know pitbull808 swore by his Fourteen but now plays the TourStage F-UT (but that was yesterday, so that could have changed :) ), but that is a wood-styled hybrid. Sonartec's Md is another hybrid that has received many positive reviews and is certainly higher-end. The only club I don't recommend too highly (driving iron-style) is the Mizuno Fli-Hi. That's the only Mizuno club (well, I didn't like their wedges either), that I ended up hating in the end.

I have the tour edge 3 and 4 jamx tour and love them, They cost about $80.00 with a steel shaft ,I am thinking about an 18 exotic however I can't find one to demo

I love my Fli-Hi II's, pefect iron-like hybrids for me. Incredibly easy to hit high and straight, they're loft and lie adjustable (my 21 and 17 degree were built to my preferred loft/lie/length 3 and 2 iron specs). Choose a steel shaft to match your weight and flight preference and you're good to go. I can understand how some players who dislike a thick topline and some offset in their irons might not prefer these, but for me they're significantly easier to hit long and straight than any other long iron, hybrid or fairway wood I've tried. I love mine off the tee, fairway and the rough. I haven't hit one with graphite but I do not like the stock steel offering, if you try one of these in steel have Mizuno build one with a steel shaft to match your irons.

I currently play the Fli Hi 21*. I've also had the Cleveland LDI 21*, until it was stolen.

I've only used graphite in them and I'd recommend both if you're sure thats what you're looking for in a club.

I love my Air Muscles (2 & 3) and haven't found anything worth changing to. What are you looking to do (trajectory and shape) that you can't hit with the AirMuscle?

i had a tm rescue, great club, very forgiving and alot like a high lofted, more controllable fairway wood. you can really hit alot of shots with one swing, but only one swing has worked for me. i switched to a sonartec md and that is a much more versatile club. more of a players club with a higher cg and not any draw bias. great club! try a wood like hybrid and see if u like it more as opposed to an iron like one.

If you are seriously looking at an Iron-like hybrid only...there is only one choice in looks, feel and performance IMHO

i've really liked the cleveland ldi and the nike pro combo utility iron even more. i recently upgraded the stock speed step steel in my 18* pro combo utility iron to a rilfe 6.0 and it is absolutely awesome now. its real easy off the fairway, pretty good from the rough (much better than a long iron), and great off the tee. its very forgiving, buy you can shape it. its completely neutral, no draw or fade bias.

it would be in the bag except for the fact that i also put a rifle 6.0 in my slingshot tour to make it even better too.

I'm a fan of the titleist 503.H, and the taylormade rescue dual. If you go with the 503.H I don't recommend a graphite shaft because the stock ones are kinda mushy and im not really a fan of the lightweight Adila NV's.
