Cleveland Comp 460,OMG!!!!
For the guys suffering from unwanted low trajectory or just lacking consistency with the Big Dawg, I give you the Cleveland Comp 460.

I had a 10.5* club in 2005 but it launched too high even for me.Found a 9.5* (thanks Gizmo) and IT is the cats meow.Driving has never really been my strength but now it will be. :)

A beautiful 460 composite top driver(check the reviews) that hides the 460 size well. The strength of this driver is the ease of use, very forgiving and easy launch.Fitted with the proper shaft I picture this being a monster.

Even with my respect and love of TM golf, I couldn't find the one right driver to accomplish my goals.Maybe if I had gotten a 10.5* 425, oh well.

The sound is a little loud but of course not unplayable. The whole face seems to be hot; high, low, heel or toe. Distance is above avg. but for me the need was forgiveness.I believe now scores will good down even more due to this club;having said that I've shot rounds of 74 and 70 using my fade happy 905T w/V2 75 stiff.

Great news! I've been singing the praises of the std. 460, 9.5* - Launcher with an Alaida NV65 shaft. It is forgiving and long. I have planned an upgrade to the Comp. later this year. You've made a great choice. S2M

Thank you S2M and good luck!!! Believe me I think other than Cally I've tried every Lefty driver out..........For a moderately poor driver of the ball, this fits the bill with great looks and very HIGH performance.I have sang the praises of other clubs, rightfully so as there are other great drivers out there, but with the advent of larger, deeper heads The Cleveland Comp has provided me with the right trajectory at a medium swingspeed(100-105) with tons of forgiveness!!!! :)

for the guy who asked about the difference between the ti launcher and the launcher comp.

HUGE

The drivers don't act anything alike. I have both, but only played the titanium one for a week or so, the comp is way different in every aspect.

the comp is more forgiving, and way more of a hot face. Its crazy.

I don't know how one is way more forgiving than the other because they are both pretty similar in basic design? I tried both, and other than sound, they are hard to tell apart performance wise when fitted with premium shafts! The ti obviously feels more 'hollow' than the comp but that isn't exactly ground breaking news because it's the same with all composite driver heads.

The Comp is a nice driver. It has a nice looking head from address, and is high launch. The only think I don't like about it is the head is high spin as well (relative to other "current" heads). It does have a relatively shallow face as well, so keep that in mind if you like a deep face. I currently am playing the 9.5 Comp with a UST V2 65 X over an 9.5 R5 with a Speeder 757 S. I think the Hibore will displace it when it gets back from getting hotmelted. ;)

And you can get these cheap on eBay. Less than $200 easy for a great used one.

Thinking about a V275 stiff......how is this combo?? It is the type of head I need, Low launch player but thinking V2 will keep alot of the spin off..........

Where did you put the hotmelt on your hi-bore?? Do you really like the scoop effect?

The Comp has a composite crown for a reason, and that reason is to take weight (25 grams according to Cleveland) from the crown, and place it along the perimeter of the club, and deep in the club. By having the extra weight on the perimeter and deeper in the club, you get a lower COG and more forgiveness on mishits.

I agree, it's a really solid driver. It took a 7.5* loft for me to buy it, but today I took it out for my first round with it, and it was solid. Accually lowered my ballflight a ton vs. the old Launcher 460 I was hitting, and very forgiving. And, the feel on a solid hit is perfect, and shots anywhere else fly really good. Length is supurb over the old 460.

Hey Studly, have you hit the Hi-bore? just wondering from those who have the comp what they though of the comparision.......

I've hit the hibore, and it is one of the straighest drivers I've ever hit, even on an off day, it went straight. But, for me the ball flew way too high for my liking, even with many various shafts in the 8.5* loft. If you want something that will go straight, and you aren't worried about ballooning, the hibore is a great club. Again, I bought the Comp that day based on the lower ballflight.

That's good to know. I also don't like the looks of the Hi-Bore, I was just curious ;)

Had this combo (Tour Comp w/diamana 73) for over a month and today's round confirms my beliefs: For my paltry game this driver cannot be beat. FT-3,R7 425 10.5......nothing has and probably won't knock it out!!! :drinks:

Oh, don't worry! Something will come along one of these days and kick that driver to the curb. It's happened to us all.

Not even a Ft-3? I heard they have the hottest face out there.

With right setup the FT-3 could be a gamer............ you need the right loft and shaft but overall a pretty soild club IMHO

I have been playing a 10.5* Comp with an 857 Pro-Ti X for most of the last two seasons, and it is absolutely long, straight, workable and forgiving. Natural launch is high with low spin, but with a minor swing adjustment I can easily bring it down to deal with head winds.

I have tried two different Hi-bores (YS-7 X and a Graphaloy Blue S) and I was getting very high spin rates with the club, but the shot dispersion was very tight. I would not trade the comp for HiBore.
